(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Tian Xiuzhen was arrested by Weifang City Domestic Security Division officers on December 15, 2025, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is being held in the Weifang City Detention Center. She has been sentenced her to three years and six months in prison.
Ms. Wang Fenghua was arrested on May 20, 2026, by officers from the Tiexi Domestic Security Division. She has been detained ever since. The procuratorate notified her family on June 4 that her arrest had been approved.
Mr. Wang Chuanwen, 90, was sentenced to two years in prison. He appealed with the Jinan City Intermediate Court, which informed him on June 1, 2026, that the original verdict had been upheld.
Ms. Yu Chunxiang was notified on June 4, 2026, that she was scheduled to appear in the Ganjingzi District Court on June 10.
Ms. Lan Jingyun was arrested on April 22, 2026. Her arrest has been approved by the local procuratorate.
Ms. Zhang Shijuan was arrested by three officers from the Baitazi Town Police Station at the Baitazi Town Street Market on June 2, 2026, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the Harqin Zuoyi Mongol Autonomous County Domestic Security Division the same day. She is being held in the Chaoyang City Detention Center.
Mr. Hou Yu’an was arrested on May 8, 2026, after a home owner reported him for dropping a copy of Minghui Weekly at her door. He is being held in the Hui County Detention Center.
Ms. Liu Xiaoya was arrested on June 4, 2026, by Tiexi Economic Zone Police Department officers. Her home was ransacked, and her Falun Gong books and other items were confiscated.
Ms. Zhou Rongmei, 46, was arrested on May 27, 2026. She is being held in the Nanchang City Second Detention Center.
Mr. Liu Jianhua was arrested in his neighborhood on March 19, 2026, after long-term police surveillance. He was taken to the Lanshan District Police Department. The police ransacked his home but didn’t find any Falun Gong materials. He was detained for 15 days.
Mr. Zu Peiyong, Ms. Wang Xi’ai, and Ms. Zhi Fuqin were repeatedly harassed between April and May 2026 by the Yiwen Town Police Station officers. The police threatened to take them to brainwashing centers.
Ms. Chang Hongxia was arrested at home on April 23, 2026, by officers from the Meihekou City Domestic Security Division and the Jiefang Police Station. They confiscated several of her Falun Gong books. Her daughter and grandson happened to be visiting her. The boy was so terrified that he started to cry. She has since been held in the Meihekou City Detention Center and denied visits with her family.
Ms. Chang’s mother, Ms. Gao (first name unknown), was arrested at home that same day. The police ransacked her place and seized over 20 Falun Gong books and two copies of Minghui Weekly. She was taken to the Hailong Town Police Station. She fainted from shock and was then released. The police returned three copies of Zhuan Falun to her.
Ms. Zhang (first name unknown), nearly 60, was arrested on April 17, 2026. The police ransacked her home and seized several printers, currency bills with Falun Gong messages printed on them, and Falun Gong flyers. She is being held in the Meihekou City Detention Center.
Ms. Yang Peifang was arrested on May 11, 2026, by officers from Huoqiu County, Liu’an City, Anhui Province and is being held in the Liu’an City Detention Center. Her lawyer went to visit her on June 1, but the Huoqiu County Police Department and the detention center denied the visit, stating “the case involves state secrets.” The lawyer filed a complaint with the Liu’an City Procuratorate and the Huoqiu County Procuratorate.
Ms. Yao Xiaoyan was released from the Ningxia Women’s Prison on June 2, 2026.
Ms. Li Wenying was arrested on August 12, 2025, by officers from the Linghai City Police Department. She was sentenced to a year in prison and is now serving time at the Liaoning Province Second Women’s Prison.
