(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 9 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Guo Zhiping was scheduled to appear at the Gaoyang County Court on June 18, 2026.
Ms. Gao Wenyuan and Ms. Zhang Lei were indicted by the Zhen’an District Procuratorate between late May and early June 2026. They are now facing trial by the Zhen’an District Court.
Ms. Jiang Jingxiu, in her 70s, was arrested on May 20, 2026, by Dongmen Police Station officers for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. Her home was ransacked. She has been held at the Jining City Detention Center since.
Two officers from the Mengyang Town Police Station barged into Ms. Yang Congmei’s hair salon on June 2, 2026 and took pictures of her.
Mr. Xu Wenlong was arrested on June 6, 2026, in Dezhou City of the same province.
Ms. Lu Baozhen was arrested in December 2025 for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was later released on bail due to dangerously high blood pressure. During her court hearing in April 2026, the judge frequently interrupted Ms. Lu when she was testifying in her own defense. She was later placed under residential surveillance. The police would call her even when she went out to eat.
Ms. Lu was sentenced to three years in prison at an unknown time. She was taken back into custody on June 5, 2026.
Several practitioners in Tianshan District were harassed by local police between April 25 and May 13, 2026. The officers broke into the practitioners’ homes and searched their property without any warrants. The practitioners’ cell phones, Falun Gong books, and other personal items were confiscated. One practitioner was detained for more than ten hours before being released.
Some practitioners and their relatives were also subjected to telephone surveillance and harassment when they left town. Officers often questioned them about their whereabouts, activities, and reasons for visiting the area.
Ms. Tao Wenzhen, 68, was arrested on May 9, 2026, at Nanyang Farmers’ Market. She was placed under a 15-day administrative detention and has been released.
