(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 14 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Pingjiang County, Hunan Province] Ms. Hu Pinmei Detained

Ms. Hu Pinmei traveled to Shaoshan City of the same province with her family on May 31, 2026. During the time, local surveillance cameras captured footage of someone distributing Falun Gong informational materials in a scenic area, and Ms. Hu was identified as a suspect.

On the evening of June 1, the Shaoshan police worked with the police in Hongqiao Town (that oversees Ms. Hu’s area) and broke into her home and arrested her. A large number of her personal belongings, including a printer, Falun Gong books, and copies of Minghui Weekly, were confiscated. Ms. Hu was taken to the Yueyang City Second Detention Center, and has been detained there since.

2. [Beijing] Mr. Liu Yaping Arrested

Mr. Liu Yaping, in his 50s, was arrested when he went out on May 23, 2026.

3. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xiu Xiaoxue and Ms. Bian Dongna Officially Arrested

Ms. Xiu Xiaoxue and Ms. Bian Dongna have been issued formal arrest warrants by the Yingkou City Procuratorate.

4. [Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Tried

Ms. Bai Yun, Mr. Liu Xiaohui, and Ms. Liu Shuhua were tried by the Longshan District Court on June 2, 2026. No verdicts were announced.

5. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Two Practitioners’ Prison Terms Ending Soon

Mr. Zheng Yongxin and Ms. Yang Jie were arrested by officers from the Shapotou Police Department in Zhongwei City on October 25, 2020. They were sentenced to prison by the Shapotou District Court on May 6, 2023. Mr. Zheng was given five years and ten months and fined 15,000 yuan; he is scheduled to be released from the Shizuishan Prison on August 24, 2026. Ms. Yang received six years and a fine of 20,000 yuan; she will be released from the Ningxia Women’s Prison on October 24, 2026.

6. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Wenjie’s Home Ransacked

Mr. Wang Wenjie was surrounded by six police officers while working at a farmers market on June 1, 2026. They interrogated him and also raided his home without a search warrant. His Falun Gong books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong were confiscated.

7. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Chuanwen Released From Prison

Ms. Zhang Chuanwen was scheduled to be released from the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison on June 5, 2026, after serving a 3.5-year term. The prison authorities initially planned to hand her over to her local government officials on her release day, but relented after her family insisted on taking her home.

8. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Chu Chunwei Harassed After Release From Prison

Ms. Chu Chunwei, 52, a teacher at Longfeng District No. 19 Middle School, was arrested at a bus station around 6 a.m. on September 11, 2019, by four officers from the Wolitun Police Department. The police collected her fingerprints, searched her bag, and took pictures of her. They also ransacked her home and confiscated her computer, cell phone, Falun Gong books, and nearly 1,000 yuan in cash. She was later sentenced to three years in prison, and her appeal was denied. She was also fired by her employer. Ms. Chu was transferred to the Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison in late 2020, and released in September 2022.

Due to continued police harassment, Ms. Chu was forced to move. Yet the police managed to find her and continue to pressure her to sign statements renouncing Falun Gong. She and her family live under tremendous pressure.

9. [Peng’an County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhang Jun Officially Arrested

Mr. Zhang Jun was arrested on May 7, 2026, for talking to a military officer about Falun Gong. He has been held at the Jialing District Supervision Center since. His arrest was approved by the Gaoping District Procuratorate on May 13.
