(Minghui.org) I am 74 years old and started to practice Falun Dafa in 1997. To better fulfill my mission to assist Master in saving people, I go out with fellow practitioners every day to clarify the truth and distribute informational materials about Dafa. I would like to share a few recent experiences.
Several people were handing out flyers near the entrance of a supermarket, and a young woman handed me one offering ten eggs for one yuan. Another young woman also thrust a flyer into my hand. I asked if they were students. They said they were college students working part-time jobs during the summer break.
I complimented them on being sensible and hardworking, which seemed to please them. Then I said, “I have some wonderful news to share with you. Have you ever heard of Falun Gong?”
“Isn’t it banned?” they asked
“First of all,” I hastened to remind them, “the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is not the same as China. Falun Dafa teaches people to be good by following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. It is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. The main book Zhuan Falun has been translated into more than 50 languages. Driven by jealousy and paranoia, Jiang Zemin claimed that he would ‘eliminate Falun Gong in three months.’ The Tiananmen Square self-immolation incident was a hoax staged by the CCP to incite hatred and justify a campaign of persecution.”
They were both stunned, so I went on to tell them about the state-sanctioned organ harvesting from living Dafa practitioners for profit and that the principle that good is rewarded and evil is punished is a law of the universe. I said that everyone must take responsibility for their own choices. Only by choosing goodness will one be protected by the divine. I asked them to remember, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” They both nodded and agreed to withdraw from the CCP.
As I turned to go, one of the girls asked, “May I give you a hug?” and the other girl chimed in. The three of us hugged. Tears streamed down my face. These two girls had been saved. This was the joy of salvation, a joy they truly understood.
I spoke to a young couple selling fruit. The wife readily agreed to withdraw from the CCP, but her husband was very hostile and repeated some of the CCP’s slanderous lies about Dafa. I felt disheartened and wondered if he was beyond saving. But I rejected that thought and reminded myself he had endured immense hardships to come to this human world to wait for a Dafa disciple to save him. I could not give up.
I sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil factors that hindered him from being saved and asked Master to strengthen me. He was noticeably less hostile when I bought fruit from him later. He asked me if I got a pension and why I would oppose the CCP when it was giving me money. I replied, “That is actually my money—what was deducted from my pay while I was working. It is doled out to me after I retire. You sell fruit and pay taxes to the CCP. You need to realize that we support the Party, not the other way around.” He didn’t reply.
“I keep talking to you about this because I see you are a kind person. I want you to understand the truth and be blessed so that you can survive when calamity strikes in the future. For over 20 years, the CCP has brutally persecuted Falun Gong practitioners who live by Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. It has even harvested organs from living practitioners for profit. The entire world condemns it. If man does not punish it, Heaven will! When Heaven moves to destroy it, we must withdraw from that organization to which we once pledged our allegiance with raised fists. That is the only way to ensure our safety.” The young man lowered his head and remained silent. I felt that the “ice” was beginning to melt.
When I went to buy peaches again, he invited me to pick them out myself. I told him he could just choose them for me. He remarked with emotion, “Ma’am, you never fuss or pick and choose. I’ve never met anyone quite like you.”
I explained, “I became this way after practicing Falun Dafa. Master Li teaches us to put others before ourselves and to always consider their needs.”
As he selected the peaches for me, he seemed deeply moved, as if he wanted to say something but was hesitant.
I said, “You must take responsibility for your own life. Choose kindness and don’t shoulder the blame for evil.” The young man nodded earnestly and agreed to withdraw from the CCP. I gave him a USB drive with information about the movement, and he thanked me repeatedly. I told him, “It was Master Li who sent me to save you. You should thank him”
A fellow practitioner and I were at a clothing store sharing the facts about Dafa with two women in the lingerie section. They agreed to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. A third woman nearby said nothing but looked visibly displeased. I hesitated, thinking, “She probably won’t be receptive. Maybe I should just let this one be.”
On second thought, I wondered, “What if Master sent her, too?” I gathered the courage to strike up a conversation with her.
She snapped at me, “You people have nothing better to do with your time. Others have already spoken to me about this. Where would you be without the CCP?”
I asked her if she had heard about the corrupt official who’d recently been arrested, the one who had embezzled over 300 billion yuan. “His son owns more than a hundred fancy cars. Where did all that money come from? Wasn’t it all from ordinary people like us who’ve been exploited? Wouldn’t our lives be better without them?”
She didn't argue but said impatiently, “I am a Christian. Our God will save us.”
I told her that anyone who has joined the CCP, the Youth League, or the Young Pioneers is considered part of that atheistic Party. “Would your god save someone who doesn’t believe in him?”
I then told her a story about a man caught in a flood. Believing firmly that his god would save him, he stayed put, waiting confidently to be rescued. When the water rose to his calves, someone on a small bamboo raft came by and urged him to board, but he refused, saying, “No, God will come save me.” As the water rose to his waist, a man on a sailboat invited him aboard, yet he again declined, insisting, “No, God will come save me.” When the floodwaters reached his chest, a large ship came along, and the captain offered him a ride, but he still refused, saying, “No, God will come save me.” Eventually, the floodwaters engulfed him. Arriving in heaven, he demanded to know why God hadn’t saved him. God replied, “I tried to save you three times. It was you who failed to seize the opportunities!”
I said to the lady, “We are the ones in the boats, and we have come to save you!” The woman’s indifferent expression vanished. With tears welling in her eyes, she grasped my hand and repeatedly said, “Thank you! I understand now.”
I went to the bank to withdraw some money and was waiting on a bench when a man in his 60s sat down next to me. I glanced around and saw plenty of empty seats, yet he had chosen to sit right beside me. I felt certain he had come to hear the truth about Dafa. He struck up a conversation, and we chatted like old friends who had known each other for years.
Before retiring, he had been a section chief at a government agency. His wife was a teacher. I told him that I was just an elderly woman from the countryside. We went on to discuss the corruption in society today and the hardships ordinary people face.
When I asked if he knew about Falun Gong, he replied that it was a “cult” that opposed the government. I explained that Falun Gong is actually a Buddha School practice based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. I pointed out that Falun Gong is not included in the CCP’s official list of “evil cult organizations” and that a notice issued by the General Administration of Press and Publication rescinded the ban on Falun Gong publications. That means that publishing Falun Gong books and materials is legal in China, and, therefore, by distributing materials and clarifying the truth, we are simply exercising our rights to freedom of belief and freedom of speech, as guaranteed by law.
After I told him more about Falun Gong and the significance of quitting the CCP and its affiliated organizations, he agreed to quit. He smiled and said, “You’re certainly not like an ordinary elderly woman from the countryside. You know more than most teachers.”
