(Minghui.org) After Master taught the Fa on sending forth righteous thoughts in 2001 practitioners understood this was important.
This was especially true during those years when the persecution was at its peak. Practitioners wholeheartedly sent forth righteous thoughts.
My understanding of the importance of sending forth righteous thoughts began in 2002. I had just been persecuted so I had some fear. Fortunately, I was able to calm my mind and study Master’s teachings. The Fa resonated deeply with me, and I had a strong desire to study it.
As I continuously read the Fa, my righteous thoughts grew stronger each day, and much of my fear was eliminated. As I consistently sent righteous thoughts, I could feel myself elevating rapidly.
Master told us,
“As you know, the persecution that Dafa disciples in mainland China suffer is quite severe, so each student has to truly, clearly realize what his responsibility is, and when he sends forth righteous thoughts he has to be able to truly calm his mind and truly produce the effect of righteous thoughts. So this is something extremely critical, extremely important. Then if every student is able to do that, I can tell you, with five minutes of sending forth righteous thoughts together, the evil in the Three Realms will never exist again—that’s how important this is.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the Conference in Florida, U.S.A.” Collected Teachings Given Around the World Volume II)
I gained a deeper understanding of the importance of sending forth righteous thoughts. I would like to share some of my insights regarding sending forth righteous thoughts, gained over the past twenty-plus years I’ve practiced Falun Dafa.
My third eye is closed so I don’t see anything when I send righteous thoughts. The first time I experienced the power of sending righteous thoughts was in 2002. My husband, a fellow practitioner, was detained in a labor camp more than a thousand miles away, and we hadn’t been able to visit him.
We sent him 100 yuan twice, a total of 200 yuan, but he hadn’t received it.
I wanted to find out who took the money. A Dafa practitioner’s money is hard-earned, and we cannot allow bad people to take it. So, I went to the post office and asked who received it. However, I couldn’t find any details. I only knew someone received it.
I immediately sent out a powerful righteous thought to eliminate the negative elements behind those who persecute practitioners and to make sure my husband received the money. At that moment, I felt the power of my righteous thought was very strong.
A few days later, my husband called to let us know that he received all the money we sent. I was deeply moved; it was the first time I personally experienced the power of righteous thoughts.
I gained a deeper understanding of sending righteous thoughts, and I sent righteous thoughts at the top of every hour. Even during meals, if the clock struck the hour, I sent righteous thoughts. I did this every day.
When I first began sending righteous thoughts, the evil elements were almost overwhelming. I was on high alert and I dared not let my guard down. In my dreams I was chased by evil forces. So, my sending righteous thoughts was largely driven by a desire to protect myself and my fellow practitioners from harm.
I harbored deep resentment toward the wicked individuals who persecuted practitioners; I felt they were depraved, persecuting practitioners with such cruelty and harboring such intense hostility toward Master and Dafa—they seemed truly beyond redemption. I could not even bring myself to speak civilly to the State Security agents who persecuted practitioners.
Through continuous Fa study, and as my xinxing improved, so did my compassion. I understood this persecution is not merely a persecution of man against man; rather, it is the evil old forces who utilize corrupt beings from lower realms to persecute us. In reality, the people of the world are the true victims of this persecution.
They do not understand the truth; their ultimate fate is to descend into the “Gate of No Life,” facing endless suffering, being annihilated layer after layer, until both their physical bodies and souls are completely destroyed. As for practitioners, as long as we follow Master, regardless of the magnitude of the persecution and suffering we endure, a beautiful outcome awaits us.
Once I understood this principle of the Fa, the hatred I felt for the people who persecute us was dissolved and was replaced by compassion. Now when I send righteous thoughts I am genuinely concerned for them and I hope they understand the truth about the persecution and have a good future.
My understanding is this: if people have a positive attitude toward Dafa and practitioners, protect and assist them, and treat practitioners with kindness, they will have a bright future. So now when I send righteous thoughts, I think: “Whatever harms people, persecutes practitioners, and interferes with Master’s rectification, and obstructs the salvation of sentient beings be completely eradicated.
“No one is permitted to commit crimes against Dafa or persecute practitioners. Eliminate the evil that uses ordinary people to commit crimes against the Fa, and imprint the words “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” into their microscopic levels, so they have benevolent thoughts and be saved.”
The scenes from a dream I had years ago are still vivid: a group of 610 Office agents came to my home and told my mother that they were going to take me to a brainwashing center. As soon as I heard this, I started running out the door, sprinting with all my might, while the agents chased after me. They caught me.
Strangely, I wasn’t afraid. With a calm and composed heart, I told them, “Treating Dafa and practitioners well is the same as treating yourselves well.” Four young men from the 610 Office suddenly bowed their heads in respect, and gestured to me with great reverence, saying, “You may go!”
Many years passed, yet I still remember that dream vividly. Looking back on it now, I can’t help but feel deeply moved. It was truly a pivotal moment: with one single thought, one saved not only me, but also all sentient beings. Was it for personal gain? Or was it for others? The outcome, however, was as different as night and day.
In 2001, Master told us the significance and importance of sending righteous thoughts, and the essential points of how to do this. He also gave us the Fa-rectification verses for sending righteous thoughts. How can we effectively utilize these Fa-rectification verses to send righteous thoughts well, thereby maximizing our ability to eliminate evil and save sentient beings?
Here is my understanding regarding the concept of “immediate retribution”: When we send righteous thoughts to bring about immediate retribution to those evildoers who persecute Dafa and practitioners, if we harbor a mindset of hatred or a desire for revenge, we fail to meet the Fa’s requirements. We will still be caught up in human emotions, and the Fa’s power will not manifest.
When sending forth righteous thoughts, our mindset must be one of genuine concern for those involved in the persecution. If those who do not know the truth, participate in persecuting us immediately face karmic retribution in this lifetime it would be as stern warning to beings.
If these beings heed the warning in time and stop persecuting Dafa and its practitioners, they have a chance to remain. Some may truly awaken and protect practitioners, thereby atoning for their sins. They will certainly have a bright future.
This is Dafa’s compassion and salvation. This is my understanding of the principle that Dafa embodies both compassion and majesty.
If practitioners utilize their power when they send righteous thoughts that Master bestowed on us, I believe that a great many individuals involved in persecuting Dafa would face immediate retribution in this lifetime. This would render the wicked powerless to commit further evil, and the environment would undergo a profound transformation.
The Minghui website reported that in certain regions instances of immediate retribution are particularly numerous; my understanding is that this may be because practitioners in those areas attained a relatively deep understanding of Master’s teachings regarding “immediate retribution in this lifetime.”
Most practitioners cultivate with their celestial eye closed. As a result, they cannot see scenes from other dimensions while sending forth righteous thoughts and may not even sense anything.
This may begin to feel like we are merely completing a task. Some let their minds wander, and some even fall asleep.
My celestial eye is closed; however, when I concentrate I perceive a tangible sensation, especially when I have a profound sense of responsibility to save sentient beings. I feel the energy I emit is powerful.
I observed that many fellow practitioners around me were being persecuted by sickness karma, while others were subjected to prolonged interference from family tribulations, which prevented them from truly assimilating to the Fa. Many people were still being poisoned by the CCP’s lies, so they opposed Dafa and even participated in the persecution.
I began to diligently send righteous thoughts, to cleanse the universe of all corrupt, evil beings and elements, and to truly fulfill my responsibility as a practitioner.
Through the Fa, I understand what constitutes the righteous factors in the universe:
First, there are practitioners who serve as representatives of various cosmic systems. They carry profound grand vows and missions to save all sentient beings within their respective universes. They fearlessly followed Master to the human realm. Stripped of all their divine powers, they arrived in this world only to have their true natures obscured by the profound illusion of ordinary human society.
Second, a vast multitude of sentient beings presently inhabit this world. After witnessing Master’s descent to the human realm to rectify the Fa of the cosmos, and holding an unwavering conviction that the Fa-rectification would surely succeed, they summoned immense courage to descend into this human world, awaiting salvation through Dafa. It is our responsibility to awaken these beings.
With this understanding, I feel a strong sense of responsibility when sending forth righteous thoughts, which makes it easier to generate powerful righteous thoughts and to persevere.
Whenever I sit down to send righteous thoughts, my entire being instantly settles into profound stillness, and I feel a powerful surge of energy filling my body. I feel a mighty force lifting my hand upward; I felt truly invigorated, a palpable sense of supreme majesty. The longer I send righteous thoughts, the more energized I feel.
Whenever I sent forth righteous thoughts with all my heart, Master allowed me to experience the power of sending forth righteous thoughts in my dreams.
I had a very vivid dream: my husband and I were standing in line at a busy ticket station, the crowd so large that the line stretched endlessly. Suddenly, for no apparent reason, everyone became terrified and scattered in all directions.
I stepped outside and was stunned by what I saw—a huge number of black beasts came down from the sky and landed at the station. Everyone was terrified and panicked, running in all directions. My husband and I started running too. When we reached a slope, the beasts were closing in on us. Suddenly, I jolted awake. I immediately sat down, crossed my legs, raised my hand, and focused my righteous thoughts.
The moment I raised my hand, those huge black creatures suddenly shrunk and were destroyed. After I woke up, the scenes from the dream felt incredibly real. I think Master might have seen that I take sending righteous thoughts seriously and used this dream to encourage me, allowing me to experience the power of sending forth righteous thoughts.
As we approach the final stages of our cultivation we should encourage one another, and send even stronger righteous thoughts to disintegrate the last remaining evil in the cosmos, clear away all interference and obstacles on the path of Fa-rectification, and save more sentient beings.
