(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 9 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Chu Fengjiao was followed when she was distributing informational materials about Falun Gong, and she was arrested at home on May 14, 2026. Her home was ransacked, and her Falun Gong books, computer, and cell phone were confiscated. Ms. Chu was admitted to a detention center on May 16.
Ms. Ma Shaoli, around 70, was arrested at home on May 8, 2026, by officers from the Yishui County Police Department and the Longjiaquan Township Police Station. She is currently being held in the Linyi City Detention Center. The police revealed that they arrested her because of a letter she mailed to them two years ago, urging them not to persecute Falun Gong practitioners.
Ms. Wang Yuxiang is facing escalated torture for doing the Falun Gong exercises while serving a five-year sentence in the Jilin Province Women’s Prison.
Ms. Zhang Qiying was harassed at home by two officers from the Dongfanghong Police Station on May 17, 2026. Her laptop, a cell phone, and Falun Gong books were confiscated.
Ms. Zhao Xiulan was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong, and was arrested on April 9, 2026, by officers from the Tanghe Police Station and the Donghe District Domestic Security Division. She was detained in the Junan County Lockup and released on April 25, 2026. During her detention she was forced to sit on a small stool from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day, and sometimes stand for another two hours before going to bed.
Mr. Chen Jianping, 60, was sentenced to a three-year prison term by the Xianping District Court in June 2024. He is serving time at the Fanjiatai Prison and is scheduled to be released in early July 2026.
Mr. Du Changshui, 76, was harassed at home by five plainclothes officers from the Fangguan Town Police Station on February 15, 2026. The police ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Gong books and informational materials. They returned the next day and took Mr. Du to the police station for interrogation. He was released hours later.
Ms. Zhang Yuzhi, 75, was harassed in January 2025 and on November 10, 2025. Her home was ransacked both times.
Ms. Wang Suhong, 60, was harassed at home on November 10, 2025, and her home was ransacked.
