(Minghui.org) Three residents in Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province, are facing indictment for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999.
Mr. Liu Qingfu, Ms. Zhou Yuqin (also known as Zhou Hui), and Ms. Meng Guilong (also known as Meng Xianlong), were arrested in mid-May 2026, after surveillance cameras recorded them distributing Falun Gong informational materials. They have since been held at the Hegang City Detention Center.
The Xing’an District Procuratorate recently issued formal arrest warrants for the three practitioners, and they are facing indictment.
Prior to their latest persecution, all three practitioners have been repeatedly targeted for their faith.
Ms. Zhou, in her 50s, endured brutal torture while serving a three-year term at the Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison. She was released in April 2023.
Mr. Liu, a former middle school teacher in his 50s, was twice jailed for a total of 10.5 years (May 2002 – May 2011 and March 2015 – September 2016). He was also fired by the Hegang City No. 21 Middle School.
Ms. Meng, in her 60s, was sentenced to one year and released from the Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison less than three years ago.
