(Minghui.org) The annual Goostrey Rose Festival is held the last Saturday in June. This century-old village festival draws participants from the local area and neighboring towns. The festivities feature a village parade, floats, band performances, dance troupes, a coronation ceremony, and a community market—the town is immersed in an atmosphere of joy and harmony.
Goostrey is a quiet and picturesque village in southern Cheshire, England, with a population of 2,100. It is situated near the Jodrell Bank Observatory—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—and the Lovell Telescope, the world’s third-largest steerable radio telescope.

Falun Dafa practitioners’ waist drum team was invited to participate in the Goostrey Rose Festival parade held on June 27, 2026. The parade started at 1 p.m. People applauded the waist drum team, waved, and danced to the drumbeats.
Participating in the parade was challenging. The temperatures were unusually high and reached 30-38 ºC [86-100 ºF]. Many train services were affected or even suspended. To attend this event, practitioners overcame difficulties such as transportation issues and the weather and successfully arrived in Goostrey.
After the parade, many people lingered at the practitioners’ booth and asked for more information about Dafa. Practitioners introduced the practice and its guiding principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. They also told people about the Chinese Communist Party’s state-sanctioned persecution. People signed the petition calling for an end to the human rights abuses.
