Hebei Woman Faces Prosecution for Her Faith in Falun Gong

Aug. 11, 2026

(Minghui.org) A woman in Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, is facing prosecution for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Chen Ying’s ordeal stemmed from her arrest on April 17, 2025, by officers from the Qinhuangdao City Domestic Security Office and the Beihuan Road Police Station. The police confiscated over 10 of her Falun Gong books. She was released on bail after over one month in detention.

On May 22, 2026, Ms. Chen was informed by the police that her case had been submitted to the Shanhaiguan District Procuratorate.

Yang Bing, the deputy chief of the Beihuan Road Police Station, took Ms. Chen to the procuratorate on June 16 to be deposed by prosecutors Ding Liang and Yang Si.

Police officer Huang Shuo summoned Ms. Chen’s husband in late July 2026, under the pretext of requesting information about their rental apartment. He went there, only to be questioned about whether his wife had other Falun Gong books or informational materials at home. He was forced to sign the interrogation record.
