(Minghui.org) “Persecution isn’t welcome anywhere, because persecution has always stemmed from a lack of respect for others,” said Sabine, an artist agent, at Paris Place Italia on August 1, 2026.
Falun Dafa practitioners held events to tell people about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution on August 1 and 8 at Paris Place Italia and Châtelet District, respectively. They also demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises and told people about the benefits of the spiritual practice.

Sabine talked with practitioners at Paris Place Italia on August 1. She said, “Human beings are born free and must remain free. Ideally, it should be a century of progress. We really ought to be able to choose our own destiny as human beings and live in harmony.”
Regarding Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, she said, “I think those are very powerful words. They are important words for human evolution and progress. We need that—truthfulness and compassion; they encompass everything our society needs to live in harmony. China’s history was originally founded on those very things. It’s a shame to see that things are different now, because the foundation—living based on Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance—was truly beautiful.
She said that people in Europe who’ve never been to China, that is the image they have of the country and its people. But when Europeans hear about the persecution and the horrible things happening there, they are shocked to hear about things like organ trafficking.
“China has such a rich civilization. It’s a pity that it has lost that over time, because the China of today is not the China of the past. I think that’s what Chinese people today are looking for—perhaps to rediscover their history. I also think that we in Europe have great admiration for the Chinese culture of that earlier era,” she said.

Clarisse and her husband Jack noticed the practitioners’ event in the Châtelet District on August 8. They saw the big banner worded “Stop the CCP’s forced organ harvesting” and talked with practitioners.
They both said they were appalled. Clarisse said, “It’s terrible, but people just walk by without looking.”
Jack said, “This cannot continue. It’s forced by the government, and it’s not right. It needs to stop. We’re in the 20th century now. Kind people are being arrested. That’s the sad part. Everything is hidden.”
Lorla Karapuli, a street documentary photographer, said, “I know the situation in China is quite tense. With communism—it’s a regime, certainly. But persecuting people who simply want to improve their health, find their center, and connect with the earth and the universe, I’m speechless. I am absolutely shocked and horrified.”
She took some photos and said she would send them to newspapers. She said she would learn more about the issue.
Talking about Falun Dafa’s principles, Clarisse said, “It’s serenity, it’s life, it’s a sense of calm. It’s an inner awakening and a way to release everything inside. It goes back a long way. I think people should practice it.”
She added, “I think you—and your people—have been through so much. For a very, very long time. China’s history goes back a very, very long way. There has been so much suffering, so much hardship. And I’m talking about the time long before all this—before this government, which is actually atrocious. They’re scoundrels. Absolute scoundrels.”
Jackie said that cultivation is well-known in China and is a tradition. She feels people should take some time to practice Falun Dafa and reduce their stress.
