London, UK: March and Rally to Oppose the CCP’s Persecution

Aug. 25, 2026 |   By a Minghui correspondent in the UK

(Minghui.org) Practitioners marched through the heart of London on August 22 to tell people about Falun Gong and the ongoing suppression by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Many onlookers signed petitions calling to end the brutality. Some said they would share the information.

The long procession set off from in front of the Chinese Embassy and included practitioners demonstrating the exercises, playing the waist drums, and carrying banners explaining Falun Gong or the persecution. One section told people about the Quit the CCP movement, while a team of practitioners did the lion dance to congratulate the more than 400 million Chinese who have withdrawn from the CCP.

The practitioners in white carrying portraits of fellow practitioners who lost their lives in the persecution was particularly moving. Along the route, they attracted many residents and tourists who stopped to watch, take photos or videos, and accepted the flyers practitioners were handing out.

After the march ended at Trafalgar Square, practitioners played the waist drums, did the exercises together, and held a rally. Many passersby stopped to listen, talk with practitioners, and sign petitions to end the persecution.

“The Victims Are People Like Me”

Two young British women were shocked and saddened to hear about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

Momena, who will be starting university in September, believes human rights abuses continue because few people are aware of them. She said, “It’s fantastic that you’re here to tell us what is going on.” She said that she would share what she had learned with more people.

Her friend Mahmoud was equally moved. After hearing about the CCP’s forced organ harvesting, she said, “The victims are people like me—they could be me or someone in my family. This is so cruel.” She said that she would do everything she could to tell more people. “No matter where in the world, the killing of innocent people should be condemned,” she said.

A Sense of Peace and Tranquility

Sim, who works in finance in the UK, was passing by the event with her parents who were visiting her.

She said she really liked how the march was organized and said it brought the community together. She noticed that the participants were from different ethnic groups and was impressed by the peaceful atmosphere. She said it was “not only very beautiful, but also brings a sense of tranquility and peace to this place.”

Londoners: Remain Brave and Strong

London resident Jane Sweeney said she only recently learned about the human rights abuses in China, including the forced organ harvesting.

Faced with this shocking information, she expressed her solidarity with Falun Gong practitioners and people in China and wanted to encourage them: “Be brave, be strong, and the regime will tremble with fear.”

Retired Insurance Adjuster: This Brutality Must Be Stopped

Peggy, who worked in aviation and marine insurance before she retired, said the march was very peaceful.

She was saddened to hear about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and the forced organ harvesting. She repeatedly said it was “heartbreaking,” “absolutely shocking,” and “all of this must be stopped” and was in total agreement with Falun Gong’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.

Peggy was very interested when she heard that Falun Dafa offers free classes in many parts of the UK as well as online. She mentioned that one of her neighbors was learning Chinese, and she would be happy to share the information with her.

Business Owner: Organ Harvesting Is a Crime Against Humanity

When Lucy, a business owner, signed the petition to end the persecution, she said, “Anyone who attempts to forcibly harvest organs from another person commits a crime against humanity.”

She said she thought that, because Chinese society is relatively closed off, Westerners sometimes find it difficult to truly understand what is happening there, so it’s very important for practitioners to continue telling people about the persecution and to raise awareness. She was glad to have the opportunity to help.

Lucy was very much in favor of Falun Gong’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. She said that many people in the UK are interested in meditation and felt that practicing Falun Gong would help people relax and be kinder.
