(Minghui.org) Romanian Falun Dafa practitioners contributed to the global effort to speak out for their fellow practitioners in China. They organized outreach activities on the coast, in the mountains, and in the capital to inform people about this 27-year-long persecution, which has led to arbitrary arrests, sentences, torture, and even forced organ harvesting from Falun Dafa practitioners.
Practitioners around the world have held activities for the past 27 years to tell people how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Dafa in 1999.
“If you hadn’t been there, on Republic Street, I would never have known about this situation. It is a testament to great courage to be the voice of those who cannot defend themselves,” economist Bianca Hurmuzache told practitioners at their information booth in Brașov on July 18.

Practitioners held events at the seaside resort of Mamaia on July 5 and 12, in the mountain city of Brașov on July 11 and 18, as well as in Bucharest on July 18 and 20. They distributed informational materials and introduced Falun Dafa. Many people signed the petition to the G7+7 countries to end the persecution. Some people even left positive comments to encourage practitioners.
Hurmuzache from Bucharest said she was shocked to learn about the atrocities that the CCP committed against Falun Dafa practitioners.
“Unfortunately, I did not know the extent of this painful reality before I visited your stand in Brașov. I was shocked to learn that nowadays, in a modern state, people can be deprived of the fundamental freedom to believe and practice something so peaceful and spiritual,” she said.
“As a woman and as a human being, it pained me to see such suffering. I am very glad that I stopped to read and find out the truth,” she added. She also said that the practitioners’ awareness activities “are of vital importance” to keep people informed of such an important issue.

Hurmuzache said the practitioners’ efforts are positive because they reintroduce “clean moral benchmarks” to a world that is often “superficial” and “hectic.” She said Falun Dafa’s core principles especially resonated with her: Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, which she says are “deeply human principles” that should be embraced by all.
“In our current lives, we are always stressed, pressed for time or worries, and such a practice, whether spiritual or self-discipline, helps us find peace, teaches us to be gentler, to react calmly to challenges and not let ourselves be consumed by negativity or depression, which is, I believe, the disease of this century,” she said.
She believes that adopting the values of Falun Dafa would be “life-saving” for society.
“Today we see a lot of aggression, mistrust, and a constant rush. If a large mass of people sincerely adopted these values, our communities would become much warmer and safer. We would rediscover empathy, mutual respect, and the desire to help each other, transforming the world into a truly welcoming place,” added Hurmuzache.
She said she “deeply admired, encouraged, and respected” practitioners around the world who are trying to help their persecuted colleagues in China.
“May they not give up and continue to spread the truth with the same dignity. Their global solidarity and effort to bring these abuses to light represent a huge ray of hope. Their united voice matters and is slowly managing to break down the wall of silence surrounding this tragedy,” she said.
Hurmuzache also sent a strong message of solidarity to practitioners in China: “To those suffering in China, I send my heartfelt thoughts of compassion and strength. May they not lose hope and faith in their pure values, as truth and goodness should always prevail! Even if they are isolated and oppressed, their spirit and dignity cannot be removed, subdued by any dictatorship. The world is beginning to hear their cry, and the truth they defend with so much sacrifice will eventually come to light if they have the most sincere intentions.”
Iulian Gabriel Panaite, a topographic and hydrographic engineer and energy auditor for buildings, believes that inward improvement of moral values, as Falun Dafa emphasizes, is what ultimately changes societies for the better—as opposed to laws and systems. “All of these are necessary, but their function ultimately depends on the moral quality of people. A society in which more people respected the truth would be harder to manipulate. A society based on compassion would be more attentive to the vulnerable. A tolerant society would avoid turning differences between people into conflicts and hatred,” he said.

Iulian also said that the interconnectedness of societies today means that a widespread persecution isn’t just the problem of one country: it impacts all countries.
He added that as a resident of a democratic society, he has a duty to keep informed and not be swayed by propaganda, and to speak out. “We can sign petitions, we can support human rights organizations, and we can ask European and international institutions not to sacrifice fundamental rights in exchange for economic interests,” said Panaite.
“We cannot stop a persecution taking place thousands of kilometers away on our own. But we can refuse to become indifferent. We can help preserve the memory and prevent the isolation of those who suffer.”
Panaite called on the international community not to “look the other way” when it comes to the forced organ harvesting from Falun Dafa practitioners, and to take action to investigate this atrocity and hold those involved accountable.
“If an organ is removed from a person without their consent, we are no longer just talking about a violation of religious freedom or freedom of expression. We are talking about the complete annulment of human dignity and the transformation of a human being into an object with economic value. Such accusations must be investigated independently, rigorously and transparently,” he said.
Luca, a 22-year-old student, observed the Falun Dafa exercise demonstration at the entrance to King Michael Park on July 18, 2026. He was with a friend, Sarah, when they sat down to watch the practitioners meditate.
“We sat down because we were honestly curious, and listening to the music and looking at you, we simply calmed down,” he said at the end of the event, with amazement. He and his friend decided to head towards the practitioners’ petition stand. Luca believes that they were “called” to the petition stand by the power of the exercises.
The young people noticed that as they watched the exercise demonstration, their discussion became more and more refined. “We were sitting down, and somehow our discussion shifted to something calmer and more powerful, just watching your practice and how you move, and the music and everything,” Sarah said.
“I would 100% like to start practicing, and just seeing you as persons, and how you talk, is an inspiration,” Luca said to the practitioners. “For me, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, I can see in the way you talk; it’s really nice to see that you have it inside you, even in how you address us,” Sarah added.
Both Luca and Sarah were impressed by how the principles of Falun Dafa can be easily incorporated into people’s lives.
“Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are principles that people can understand and apply in their lives. I think it would be very nice to live your life with these things in mind and understand situations and accept them,” Luca said. Sarah sees a society built on such values as “idyllic.”
