The “World Events” segment recounts Shen Yun’s 20-year triumphant journey. The feedback from audience members who watched Shen Yun resonated with Ms. Wu. She wholeheartedly agreed with a French company general manager’s comments on the divine message Shen Yun conveys and the spiritual comfort it provides.

Ms. Wu said she’s seen Shen Yun many times. She said that watching Shen Yun is a visual and auditory feast, and helps her value even more the traditional cultural connotations showcased in the performances. Plus, the content emphasizes morality and reverence for the divine.

Ms. Wu said that after she retired she could indulge in her passion for culture and art and share it with like-minded friends, and she recommends Between Heaven and Earth to her friends.

For example, the columns “Inside and Outside the Square” and “The Vast Sea of People” tell people’s stories, including those who are hardworking, go against the tide, persevere, and consistently do good deeds.

Ms. Wu believes that these stories are positive and uplifting, without being didactic. She feels these stories can have a positive impact on students, and will benefit their future, careers, and families. Therefore, she feels that some of these stories could serve as supplementary material for history and culture classes.

She also shared her thoughts from a historical perspective. “Events in human history are recorded through words and images,” she explained. “As the saying goes, ‘Today’s news is tomorrow’s history.’ We are all protagonists of history; everyone is writing and acting out history, and the various scripts are wonderful and diverse.”

Between Heaven and Earth also features sections such as “Eastern Culture,” “Western Art,” “Historical Insights,” and “A Worthwhile Trip.” Ms. Wu said that some of the content is not usually available elsewhere. For example, “US Declassifies UAP Documents: Extraterrestrial Technology No Longer Covered Up” introduces relevant information and some unexplained phenomena. She also found the sightings of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) and multidimensional space very interesting.

As a retired history teacher, Ms. Wu was particularly moved by the content about history and ancient civilizations in the magazine.

She said that when she taught history, some of the mysteries of ancient human civilizations were difficult to explain. However, the content of Between Heaven and Earth discusses these issues from different angles, and the writing is profound yet easy to understand, which makes it very interesting.
