(Minghui.org) I have practiced Falun Dafa for over 20 years. Looking back at my cultivation, I see that I have changed from an ordinary person into a cultivator who considers the well-being of others. This transformation is due to Master’s compassionate salvation and the all-encompassing light of Falun Dafa. Through Fa study, I constantly keep Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in mind, elevate my moral character, and base my actions on compassion.
The road near our village had fallen into disrepair over the years, resulting in numerous cracks and potholes. One day, while passing by the local school, I noticed a large pothole in the road. People said that six or seven people had fallen there and gotten injured, yet no one had filled it in. So, I purchased some cement and gravel, and a local practitioner and I filled the pothole. We found and repaired five similar potholes.
A villager took photos of the repair, praising me as a good person for doing a good deed. The village official who saw me remarked that Falun Dafa practitioners are truly good people. I explained to them that as a Dafa disciple, I follow the teachings of Master Li Hongzhi: that we are taught to be good people, to cultivate selflessness and altruism, and to always consider the needs of others. Any Falun Dafa practitioner would do the same. I urged them to remember the phrases, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” I then added, “Quitting the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) and its affiliated organizations ensures safety,” and advised them not to cooperate with the evil forces in the persecution of Falun Dafa. They nodded in agreement.
As a result, the local people see and understand the truth about Dafa, acknowledge Dafa’s goodness, and regard Falun Dafa practitioners as good people. Some people even call out to me, “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!” When other practitioners and I clarify the truth and encourage them to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliates, they not only readily do so, but also actively ask for truth-clarification materials.
When personnel from the town’s 610 Office or police station come to harass us, our village officials do not participate. Even when they did accompany the officials to our place, they actually helped us to clarify the truth by saying, “Falun Dafa practitioners are all good people.” As a result, the visiting officials have simply left without saying a word.
Last July, a practitioner asked me to do something. After finishing my meal, I set off on my motorcycle, sending forth righteous thoughts along the way.
It was midday, and the scorching sun beat down like fire, making me sweat profusely. When I reached an intersection halfway there, a car suddenly sped toward me and collided with me. The impact sent me and my motorcycle flying through the air for over 30 feet before I crashed heavily onto the road.
I regained my senses and slowly climbed to my feet. The motorcycle was mangled, and my helmet was smashed to pieces. Yet, I had no injury and felt no pain. I knew that Master had borne the suffering for me. The car driver rushed over to ask if I was alright. I said, “I’m fine. You are lucky today—the person you hit is a Falun Dafa practitioner. You can see that the motorcycle is smashed and mangled, yet I am unharmed. It was my Master who bore the suffering and protected me.”
The driver took me and the motorcycle to a repair shop to have it fixed. The shop owner remarked, “How can it be repaired when it’s smashed up like this? There are no spare parts available.” Realizing it couldn’t be fixed there, the driver said, “Try other shops to see if they have the parts. I’ll leave my phone number with you; contact me if you need anything.” He quickly left before I could even say a word; I knew he was afraid I might demand compensation from him.
I then took the opportunity to clarify the truth about Dafa to the shop owner. I said, “I practice Falun Dafa, so I won’t give him any trouble. He was lucky that it was me he hit today; had it been anyone else, they wouldn’t have treated him this way—even 3,000 yuan wouldn’t have been enough! We Falun Dafa practitioners strive to be good people by following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, so I won’t cause him any problems. I just hope he’ll be more careful when driving in the future.”
The owner replied, “Falun Dafa practitioners are truly good people! Had it been anyone else, they would have demanded that he pay for the motorcycle.” I told him, “Master Li said in his teachings, ‘The driver indeed drove the car too fast, but how could he possibly hit someone on purpose? Didn’t he do it unintentionally?’ (Lecture Four, Zhuan Falun) Therefore, as Falun Dafa practitioners, we must conduct ourselves in every situation according to Master’s requirements; we must cultivate a state of selflessness and altruism—putting others before ourselves—and thinking of others in all matters.” I also told the owner, “Remember that Falun Dafa is good; it can save your life when great calamity strikes.” He happily thanked me.
After I returned home, some people who don’t practice Falun Dafa asked, “Why did you let the driver go?” I replied, “One cannot act without considering others; he didn’t hit me intentionally. However, he gave me his phone number and address, so I will go see him—not to demand compensation, but to clarify the truth about Dafa. I will use this opportunity to visit his area and spread the good news of Dafa to the people there!”
In fact, I have encountered dangerous situations many times while riding my motorcycle, yet I always emerged unscathed. I know it was my compassionate Master who bore all the tribulations on behalf of his disciple. Over my 20-plus years of cultivation, many miraculous events have occurred around me, allowing people to witness the wonder and greatness of Dafa.
At this final, critical juncture, I must study the Fa well, follow the path arranged by Master, and assimilate to the Fa. Only by diligently and truly cultivating within the Fa—and by doing the three things well—can I fulfill my prehistoric vow and follow Master as the Fa rectifies the human world.
