[Mainland] Righteous ordinary Chinese citizens begin to see the truth about Falun Gong
On October 22nd, I went out to distribute Falun Gong truth-clarifying flyers in Zhengzhou, Henan province. Afterwards, I took a taxi home and started a conversation with the taxi driver about Falun Gong. He surprised me by saying, "Jiang Zemin has really done some bad deeds. He made up stories saying that Falun Gong does not let people take medicine." During the past year, I have had many similar conversations with taxi drivers, and he was the first one who has seen through the lies made up by Jiang Zemin. I was surprised and certain that he had seen the truth-clarifying material about Falun Gong. When I got out of the taxi, I urged him to always remember the words of "Truthfulness, Benevolence and Forbearance" in his heart. Since then, I have talked to other taxi drivers in Zhengzhou and discovered several that were familiar with the truth about Falun Gong.
When I was in Beijing, I struck up a conversation with another taxi driver who did not know that I was a Falun Gong practitioner. When the topic of Jiang Zemin's mistreatment of ordinary Chinese citizens came up, he said, "Right now Jiang won't even let old ladies practice Falun Gong on Tiananmen Square. Anyone who practices Falun Gong is automatically arrested. They are just practicing on their own and have bothered no one." I then told him about the evil deeds that took place at the Masanjian Labor Station in the city of Shenyang, and the fact that close to 70 practitioners had been persecuted to death. He was shocked and felt that Jiang Zemin and his followers were truly evil.
These two small episodes made me realize that righteous ordinary Chinese citizens are beginning to see the truth about Falun Gong. I now understand what Master Li meant by wanting us to "clarify the truth with wisdom" even more. Currently there are still a lot of everyday people who do not know the truth about Falun Gong, and there are many practitioners who are suffering a great deal while waiting for those people to learn the truth. Let us step forward together, "clarify the truth with wisdom", and do a better job of "assisting the teacher in the human world."
[Zhengzhou, Henan Province] Police seriously injured in a car accident yet practitioners are unscathed
After the Chinese National Day, a certain police station from a western suburb of Zhengzhou went to Beijing to bring back local practitioners who went there to appeal for Falun Gong. On the way back, they were involved in a major accident on a highway. Several policemen in the car were seriously injured, yet none of the practitioners were hurt. This development shook up the local police, as it was a powerful testimony to the might of the Dafa and a good lesson for all of them.
[New York] NY public TV stations air the documentary "Falun Gong -- The Real Story"
Since last year, the documentary "Falun Gong -- the Real Story Part I" was repeatedly aired by a number of public TV stations in Manhattan, Brooklyn and New Jersey. This Thursday, "Falun Gong -- the Real Story Part II" was aired in Brooklyn for the first time. The documentary truthfully reflects how the practitioners in China have continued to stay true to themselves despite the brutal persecution by Jiang Zemin and his followers. It also reports the acceptance and support that Falun Gong has received from the international community. The documentary will be aired in other NY City districts soon.
[Sichuan Province] The story of a brave female practitioner
Zhang Zhengmei (a pseudo name) is in her 50s and lives in the Sichuan province. She went to Beijing three times to appeal for Falun Gong, and as a result was thrown into the local detention centers and prisons several times. The local police always locked her up without cause around the dates that might be considered sensitive. She has been beaten many times, yet she has always stood by her beliefs.
On October 16th, she went to a nearby town to personally hand out the flyer "Jiang Zemin can't shirk the responsibility of persecuting Falun Gong." Just as she was about to finish passing out all the flyers, a plainclothes agent hidden in the crowd saw her. She was arrested and locked up in the local detention center. The head of the detention center personally interrogated her, asking her where the flyers came from. She said, "When I got up in the morning, I saw a stack of it outside my door. I read it and liked the content. We the Falun Gong practitioners have done nothing wrong. Master Li has always taught us to be good people. Our moral standards have risen, and we have become kinder people. Falun Dafa is such a good thing, yet now it is being called evil. I want to hand out the flyers to let people know the truth." The police at the detention center took turns interrogating her and slapping her, but she still said that she found the flyers outside of her door. The evil people at the detention center tied her hands on two wooden posts for three whole days without giving her any food or water. The police held repeated interrogation sessions in the middle of the night so that she could not get a moment of rest. On the fourth day, the police continued to ask her where the flyers came from. Policeman Wang Zong hit her right hand with a handcuff. The fingers on her right hand were seriously injured and bled profusely. The evil forces still refused to give up and moved her to the county detention center. She refused to say anything and held a 3-day long hunger strike in protest. They finally gave up and let her go home.
After she went home, her son saw her injuries and went to the local police station demanding to know why his mother was beaten up in such a fashion. The police refused to admit they were responsible and said, "We did not hit anyone", yet the 3-inch long wound on her right thumb is still visible to this day.
[Weifang, Shandong province] The authorities send practitioners, including the eyewitness to Chen Zixiu's murder, to labor camps
Ying Xia, 31 years old, was an eyewitness to Chen Zixiu being beaten to death by the local authorities. In March of this year, she wrote a statement describing what she saw. Her husband Song Weixing sent that statement to another practitioner, and the statement was then published on Minghui. As a result, everyone involved was thrown into the local detention center for a month. After they were released, Song Weixing was sentenced to three years at the labor camps, and Ying Xia continued to be illegally held at the Nanguan Street Residential Office. In April, during the Weifang International Kite Festival, many foreign reporters came to the city and wanted to interview Ying Xia. The head of the Nanguan Street Office Zu Qingli was scared to death and said there was no such a person. In June, Ying Xia walked on foot to Beijing and wanted to make an appeal to Premier Zhu Rongji. The plainclothes agents who were hidden near Premier Zhu's residence arrested her and took her away. She was released only after conducting a 13-day long hunger strike. In July, she again went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and the local police placed her on the "wanted list." She could not go home and had to live on the streets. On October 1st, she again went back to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was arrested yet again. She has been sentenced to three years at the Jinan Labor Camp, and her 7-year-old daughter Song Xinyang is now living with her elderly grandparents.
Ding Aili is in her 40's and worked in the Weifang 2nd Pharmaceutical Factory. She went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong many times and was arrested when she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong on October 1st. She has been sentenced to three years at the Jinan Labor Camp. She has been divorced from her husband for many years, and there is no one around to care for her 7-year-old daughter An Ran. Her adopted daughter has also been detained for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and has not been released yet. It has been said that the daughter is going to be sent to the labor camps as well.
Chen Tiansheng, 30, was a worker at the Weifang 1st Construction Company. He was fired from his job for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong last October. He went back to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong on this October 1st and was detained for a month. On October 30th, his employer along with the local police arranged to send him to the Changle Labor Camp.
Xiao Jingseng, 29, was a worker at the Weifang 1st Construction Company. He was fired from his job for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong last year. His employer then sent him to the Changle Mental Hospital, where he was forced to undergo more than 50 days of "treatment" (another local practitioner Su Gang died from cruel treatment at the very same hospital). He was only allowed to go home after Su Gang's death. On October 1st, his employer and the local police arranged to send him to the Changle Labor Camp.
Xu Hong, in her 30's, was a worker at the Weifang Trucking Company. She went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong many times and was sent to the Jinan Labor Camp in the morning of October 28th.
Wang Zhen, in her 60's, was a retiree from the Weifang Diesel Engine Company. She went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong many times. On October 1st, she was arrested again when she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. After conducting a hunger strike, she was released. However, on October 28th the local police forcefully removed her from her home and sent her to the Jinan Labor Camp.
Recently the city of Weifang sent more than 20 policemen to the Masajia Labor Station to learn how to "transform" Falun Gong practitioners. After they came back, a new round of "transformation" classes was started throughout the city on October 30th. One class was held at a hotel near the Xiashan water dam. Practitioners who are being held there include Weifang police captain Zhao Bing, three other police officers Chen Xiangde, Jiang Zhengbe, Wang Xiujian, and many others.
In addition, many practitioners are being held inside of the Industrial Executive School on the eastside of the Yanwei Street.
[Weifang, Shandong Province] Detailed report on the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Weifang
Zhang Peijuan (pseudonym), 38, was a teacher. She was arrested for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong last October. After she was released, her employer fined her nearly 10,000 Yuan (more than one year salary). On October 28th, seven or eight security officers from her workplace forced her and another practitioner to attend a "transformation class" at the Senior Center on the Shuiku Street. Each person was asked to pay 100 Yuan for each day of the class. On the way there, they were able to get away, and nobody knows where they are right now.
Zhou Xin (a pseudonym) was not allowed to go home starting from last July for being a Falun Gong practitioner. He was forced to stay at work 24 hours a day, where someone was always around to keep an eye on him. During that time, his family members went to his employer asking to let him go home many times, but their requests were always turned down. He managed to slip away once and used the opportunity to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong last December. When he returned, he again was placed under 24-hour surveillance at work. He was held in such a manner until this April, when his employer asked him to choose between Falun Gong and his job. He gave up his well-paying job and now is supporting himself and his family by being a manual laborer.
Hu Wenpei (a pseudonym), in her 40's, was arrested last year for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. After she was released, her employer would not let her return to work. Her husband (who is not a practitioner) happened to work in the same place as she did, and he was not allowed to go back to work either. Instead, he was told to stay at home to watch her. They were fined a total of 13,000 Yuan, which caused a severe hardship to their family. On October 1st of this year, she again went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was detained for 15 days. Her employer used the same ploy and would not let her husband go back to work, so that he could stay at home and watch her. On October 30th, her husband was asked to go to a meeting at work, and she was ordered to attend a "transformation class" organized by the city. She was forced to leave her home, and no one knows where she is right now. Her husband was told that unless he could find her and turn her in, he would not be allowed to go back to work. He is now officially suspended from work with no pay.
In the evening of October 25th, a man with the surname of Kao, a newly appointed head of Weifang City Kuiwei district residential office, along with three officers from the Tanxiaoshang Police Station took several practitioners from their homes under false pretenses. They locked up the practitioners at a local detention center. The practitioners conducted hunger strike in protest, but they were ignored.
In the evening of October 28th, Kao along with three police officers took practitioner Hao Weiguo (a pseudonym) from his home and beat him up in a field nearby. They were afraid of being discovered, so they moved to a place next to the ocean 30 miles away to continue their beating. As they were beating the practitioner, they kept on asking him if he was going to continue practicing Falun Gong or not. Kao even openly said that the four of them could execute Mr. Hao on the spot, throw his body into the ocean, and would have violated no laws. Before they started beating Mr. Hao, they took his clothes off and put them back on when they were done with the beating. They also wiped away any dust on him and made sure he looked clean. It was obvious that they were trying to hide what they did from the public eyes.
The same four people tortured another female practitioner the same evening by repeatedly shocking her with an electric baton. Two other practitioners continued their hunger strikes until October 31st. An officer at the Residential Office Zhou Fuchu was afraid that they were going to die, so he asked their family members to carry them away. Right now, several practitioners are still being detained there.
Zheng Peitao, the party general secretary at the Weifang Salt Factory, is in his late 60's and has passed the age of retirement a long time ago. However, he still persecutes Falun Gong practitioners viciously.
Jiang, the Party general secretary at the village of Xinwei, goes out of his way to persecute Falun Gong practitioners in order to please his superiors. The city residential office praised him publicly for coming up with new ideas to persecute the practitioners and offering a place to detain the practitioners. He is directly responsible for the cruel and inhumane treatment of several practitioners.
Sun Xiaomei, who has written essays describing how her mother and sister were persecuted to death, was arrested for violating criminal laws on October 30th.
Teng Jixian was arrested from his home at 12am on October 29th by the Xiguan Police Station.
[Jining, Shandong Province] Jining government blacklists practitioners and conducts large-scale arrest
Since mid-October, the city of Jining has come up with a blacklist of more than 160 practitioners and is conducting searches throughout the city to round up these practitioners. Many practitioners who have not gone into hiding were arrested and sent to labor camps. Supposedly this new round of arrests has to do with the fact that a relatively large number of Jining practitioners went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. In addition, there is Falun Gong truth-clarifying material everywhere in the city, and many of the crimes committed by Jiang Zemin's followers while persecuting Falun Gong have been published on the Internet. Until the beginning of November, around thirty to forty practitioners on the blacklist have been sent to labor camps (the exact number is unknown), while the rest have been able to get away safely. At the present time, Jining practitioners are in good spirits. They have stepped forward one by one and done everything they could to let more people learn the truth about Falun Gong. They all feel that the continuing escalation of the persecution of Falun Gong proves that they should take more concrete actions to expose the crimes committed by Jiang Zemin and his followers to the people of the world.
