My name is Hui Yu. I am in prison right now. I'd like to share my cultivation experience with other practitioners, especially those who have the predestined relationship to cultivate together with me closely (including my parents, husband, sister, and other family members). As a result of the limit of my cultivation level, there may be inappropriate understandings. You are welcome to point them out.
In early August last year, some of our practitioners shared experiences at the Lotus Mountain park. A practitioner named Jin said that we should rectify this environment by ourselves; we should go out to have group practice and Law study, and go to Beijing to safeguard the Law, all in an upright and dignified manner; We should not just wait for Master to rectify the Law. I echoed her views, but in my mind I didn't know what to do. It was raining on and off, and I felt perplexed at that time.
From Last August till the end of last October, we have been discussing whether we should go to Beijing to make appeals. I made appeals to my provincial government on July 22. Later on I withstood all kinds of pressure during the test at my work place, to keep up my cultivation and safeguard The Great Law. Therefore, I didn't regard myself as one of those who should have stepped out but were instead "firm in genuine cultivation" at home. My understanding was to practice in a dignified manner in each individual's environment. I asked a practitioner who was among the earliest to go to Beijing: "Why going to Beijing? What to do in Beijing?" "You should ask the question to yourself", he replied. I still held on to my views and drafted an article opposing going to Beijing. I talked with another practitioner about this issue on October 25. I put forward many arguments, such as 1) we should take a middle course, instead of going to extremes in cultivation; 2) what effect to achieve by going to Beijing? It's detrimental to everyone if contradictions are intensified; 3) we should do everything by taking into consideration of circumstances, not in terms of extremes; 4) usually after a matter is over, Master would ask students to calm down and genuinely cultivate; wouldn't uneasy minds affect cultivation? That practitioner asked me not to influence others with the understanding of my current level, so as not to become one of those who negatively affected others with their shortcomings, as pointed out by Master in the article "Dig Out the Roots". I thought he's right and started to doubt my views. When I saw from TV that night how the Chinese President slandered the Great Law internationally, I could not sit still any more. The next day I was on my way to Beijing. It's funny that I took with me in a hurry the article against going to Beijing, which was later discovered by the police.
My first detention was like a fifteen-day group cultivation. As described in many experience sharing articles on the internet, I felt Master was pushing me upward. Amid the tribulations, I put down the fear of life and death, and meditated in front of the monitor. One morning the guard found me doing the exercises and stopped me. Due to my attachments to the human side, I stopped. After studying the Law, however, I realized I was wrong. It's time to break with the human side! The Great Law is the most solemn and sacred, how can I stop practicing simply because it's forbidden? Under the pressure, shall I defend the human side, protect myself, or safeguard the Great Law? "It's extremely dangerous to add anything human to cultivation." "Become a real deity!" These experiences made me understand conscientiously the answers to my previous questions. When others told me what they had enlightened, I still could not understand. Now I enlightened by myself from tumbles and falls. Therefore, I took the several rounds of cultivation in prison as my "advanced training".
The Great Law, which Master has enlightened to at distant aeons, has been promulgated to us. In scriptures such as "Big Exposure", "Dig Out the Roots", "Position", and every law lecture, it has been made very clear how to safeguard the Law. "Starting to safeguard the Great Law from oneself is forever the responsibility of the disciples of the Great Law likewise, because it belongs to sentient beings of the universe, among whom you are included." We should follow what the Law tells us. When I step out from the human side, I feel my mind has reached another realm. All those arguments of not stepping out are untenable. We should always use the good side to safeguard the Law, and abolish our demon-nature and attain the right enlightenment during this process. Now I can understand some connotation of the following: "as a master, he can only tell you the Law and principles on the surface. It's your own job to cultivate your heart, to abolish your desires, and to become awakened from illusions." The Law of the universe is so upright, as Master said, "If everyone of you can understand the Law from your hearts, that will be really be the manifestation of the Law whose power knows no bounds---the reappearance of the powerful Buddha Law in the human world!" With thoughts from the human side, it seems very difficult to rectify the Law and we can only wait for the Master to do it. Nevertheless, if every one of us follows and safeguards the Law, the rectification of the Law is just around the corner. The Great Law of the universe is sacred and solemn, whose power knows no bounds, it's simply so easy to restrict the Law of the human world.
Seeing that TV broadcasts kept slandering the Great Law and viciously attacking our Master, I couldn't help bursting into tears. Master has given us the best of the universe and given all he has to sentient beings, yet the Great Law is under such vicious attack. As a disciple, I want to rectify this situation with my awakened compassion and righteous mind. My understanding is that all these behaviors, including going to Beijing and going out to practice and study the Law, etc., are for the rectification of the Law in the human world, instead of upgrading levels and achieving completion for individuals (certainly from the principles of the Law, this also serves as a big test for breaking with the human side and achieving completion). Therefore, to rectify the Law is not just going through one test, but rather overcome big obstructions and fulfill the goal through arduous effort. During this process, individuals make rapid progress in cultivation by constantly rectifying themselves. In the Law lecture in Chang-Chun, Master Li talked about creating the environment for genuine cultivation. I understand this is not that we cultivate at home. Everything in the Law, including the cultivation form, is unchangeable and indestructible like diamond. Under current circumstances, once we go out for group practice and Law study, we will almost certainly be put into jail. Although the cultivation environment suffered from unprecedented damage, we can genuinely cultivate and make further advances unceasingly by keeping the Law in mind and cultivating in the Law.
Being in the detention center for the third time, I was told by the police who tried to transform me, that I would be released if I abode by the law. I could follow all other laws of the nation, I said, except for that against the Great Law, since it's fundamentally wrong. What's in my mind is to become a real deity. I know this time I will stay here longer. My daughter is two years old, and it takes a lot of time and effort to raise a child. My family members undertake all these responsibilities now. During a major calamity in my life, my family members, especially my parents, have given me tremendous help. This time they have to bear so much for me and sacrifice a lot. In fact, I also hold responsible to them, which is not manifested in the way of human beings. That is because the Great Law creates everything for us... ...
