[Guangzhou City] The Story of Ms. Wang Yu-qingá
Ms. Wang Yu-qing, 32 years old, was a former deputy director of the Accounting Department of a bank in Guangzhou City. She has a 7 years old daughter.á
In November of 1999, she was fired by her workplace for refusing to write a pledge of giving up her belief. On December 16, she got arrested when practicing Falun Gong exercises in a park and was given administrative detention. The police ransacked her home without any legal warrant after arresting her.á
Upon her release, she flew to Beijing on the afternoon of December 30. She got arrested immediately on the Tiananmen Square. During her detention in Beijing, she was beaten by police. 7 days later, she was escorted back to Guangzhou City by police and was given criminal detention. Nobody was allowed to visit her. After one and half month of detention, she was sent to a labor camp for two years of forced-labor "education" without any trial.á
At the end of March of 2000, Ms. Wang started hunger strike to protest the illegal and unreasonable detention and forced labor imposed on her because she thought that she had not done anything wrong. A week later, she was force-fed and suffered more tribulations. She is currently detained in the Chuo-tou Labor Camp.
[Jiang-xi Province] Authorities Attempting to Cover up Their Crimes against Practitioners
After the inhumane mistreatments against the five Falun Gong practitioners
detained in the Liang-tang detention center of Nan-chang County, Xu Wen-jun,
Wan Xin-er, Peng Ju-mei, Hu Yu-zhen and Wang Yan-ling, was disclosed on
the Internet, the authorities have recently transferred these five practitioners
to other detention centers in order to cover up the crime committed by
police. For example, Xu Wen-jun has been transferred to the second detention
center of Nan-chang City.á The whereabouts of the other 4 is unknown.

After the crime against the 8 practitioners detained Nan-chang No.3
Detention Center located at N. 27th street was exposed (they had been shackled
and chained together), the detention center is currently inciting convicted
criminals to fake witnesses and testify falsely that the detention center
has done nothing wrong in order to cover up their crime. [For the stories
of these practitioners, please visit http://www.minghui.ca/eng/2000/Mar/24/LHC032400.html]

The police in Jiang-xi Province decided to start persecuting the practitioners who were involved with signing the open letter to the UN Commission on Human Rights. They would punish these practitioners for "colluding with foreign countries" on April 20 after the April 18 vote on a resolution regarding China's violations of human rights.áá
The Xin-jian County made local rules to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. All practitioners who got detained for practicing Falun Gong must pay heavy fines ranging from 4000 Yuan to 6000 Yuan in order to get freed. Those who have gone to Beijing to appeal would be imposed an additional fine of 6,000 Yuan.
