Since the "4.25" [10,000 practitioners gathering in front of the Chinese government leadership compound in Beijing -- by translator] and "7.22" [Chinese governments announcement of crackdown of Falun Gong -- by translator] incidents last year, a few in the Chinese government have planned a series of conspiracies to harm the innocent Falun Gong followers. The following historic review reveals how they have conspired to sabotage Falun Gong and frame its practitioners.
Provoking incidents that triggered the"4.25" mass petition (for details, see http://www.minghui.ca/eng/china/zhongnanhai.html)
In early 1999, He Zuoxiu, disregarding the statements from the two Offices of Appeals, published an article in Science Magazine [published by Tianjin Teachers College/by translator], attacking and slandering Falun Gong with fabricated stories. To inform the media of the truth, some practitioners appealed to the Teachers College and other related departments on April 18. The attempt backfired and the Tianjin police detained 45 practitioners. The Tianjin incident then triggered a mass petition on April 25 in front of Zhongnanhai, the Chinese Government leadership compound in Beijing. On the day before April 25, practitioners successively arrived in Beijing. In the TV program titled "The Truth of the "4.25" Illegal Gathering" produced by the state run Chinas Central TV station, it was evident that every move of the practitioners was monitored and recorded by secret surveillance camcorders. The scenes included an arrival of practitioners by car, practitioners getting out of buses, walking towards the petition office and final arrival at Zhongnanhai. These recordings were used as evidence to "expose and attack" Falun Gong. Meanwhile, the government repeatedly claimed that Falun Gong was so well organized and secretive that it "suddenly surrounded Zhongnanhai" when the government and the public security department were completely unaware of it. Isnt this contradictory?á
Spreading "suicide" rumors
Since "4.25", the government has fabricated a series of rumors, such as a "group suicide at Fragrant Hill on May 1", "a group gathering and suicide at Fragrant Hill on May 22", etc. By doing so, they could stage a "suicide" scene from a real "murder" to relate Falun Gong with some evil cults that commit suicide, and then label Falun Gong as an "evil cult".
"Two-faced" news for foreign and domestic media
On one hand, the government issued statements from the two Offices of Appeals on April 27, saying that the central committee and all levels of the government had never forbidden Falun Gong practice. On June 14, it reiterated that the government had never prohibited Falun Gong, and refuted the "extradition of Falun Gong founder" and "persecution of Falun Gong" as rumors. On the other hand, it issued secret documents giving orders to monitor, detain, interrogate, wiretap, ransack, and even threaten Falun Gong followers by force, materializing their so-called "rumors". When practitioners confronted the officials with the statements from the two Offices of Appeals, the local officers claimed that the announcement was meant for foreigners, and internally everything would be done according to the "secret documents". One month later, the government announced a crackdown on Falun Gong and extradition of its founder, turning the "rumors" into reality. Playing such two-faced tactics in front of the Chinese and the people around the world, how can the Chinese government expect people to believe its words?á
A careful preparation for the "7.22" crackdown
After "4.25", numerous practitioners telephones were tapped and their whereabouts monitored. After 3-month of careful preparation, the few in the Chinese government started a countrywide arrest in the early morning on July 20. One week prior to "7.20", the general headquarters of the armed police issued an order to over 10,000 armed police to be at first-degree combat readiness, lying that Falun Gong followers were going to have two large gatherings on July 22 and at the end of July. They persecuted people who went to the government to present the facts, put the blame on Falun Gong practitioners with their carefully planned traps, and deceived the public.
Fabricating and spreading fake Jingwens [articles written by Master Li/by translator]á
They fabricated and spread fake Jingwens among practitioners. Then they used these articles as evidence to persecute Falun Gong practitioners, and to deceive people around the world. For example, there was a printing factory specialized in printing government documents. On July 20, the workers in the factory were isolated to print a large quantity of Falun Gong material, which contained sentences such as "go out dressed in nice clothes on date XXX", "you are no longer my disciple if you do not come out", etc. The workers were asked to work overtime, and to return all printed material including the ones with printing errors. While producing fake Jingwens to lure Falun Gong followers to come out, the government alerted all of its sub-divisions that practitioners were going to do something on certain dates, and ordered them to take severe measures to "catch everyone of them without mercy".á
Sending special agents to infiltrate Falun Gong
As early as 1997, the security department
had issued documents giving orders to send special agents to infiltrate
Falun Gong. To date, its massive spy network has been in full operation
to frame and persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Spies disguised as practitioners
from other places or overseas appeared at many local practice sites throughout
China. Some of them have been hidden among Falun Gong practitioners for
a long time, and some can even recite
"Leaving the wire long enough to catch big fish"
They applied "leaving the wire long enough to catch big fish" tactic on suspected key people. For example, some police encouraged some Falun Gong assistants who stayed at home to "walk around". Upon stepping out of someone's home, the practitioner noticed that he was under the surveillance of someone in a car parked across the street.á
Attacking US Transportation Department website through Falun Gong website serverá
Hackers used servers for Falun Gong North American website (falundafa.org), and Minghui mirror sites to attack a US Transportation Dept website. With the help of some organizations, some of the attacks were traced back to some Chinese communication centers, and Chinas Ministry of Public Security. Hackers on most of the "sensitive dates" have attacked Falun Gong websites.á
While reviewing the series of conspiracies against Falun Gong, we cannot help questioning what is the reason for the government to frame and harm these innocent people? A speech made by an official who was in charge of "mind converting" gave us part of the answer, "Murderers, arsonists, and burglars can be ignored and left loose, but never Falun Gong followers. Doesn't only a murder kill a few? Sooner or later he will be caught. The Falun Gong followers must be severely punished because it affects the stability of the regime." His words revealed what the suppressers truly fear. For their own interests and power, these suppressers sacrificed the interests of the people in the country, conspired to sabotage Falun Gong and framed its practitioners. Their true intentions are evident to people all over the world no matter how they have tried to cover it up.
