Some officials in the Chinese government went to senseless extremes to suppress harmless social groups, including Falun Gong. Since July 1999, millions of Falun Gong practitioners have been brutally persecuted. As of today, at least 49 practitioners have died due to torture, forced drug injections, forced feeding, and other mistreatments. Over 500 practitioners in fine health have been sent to mental hospitals and injected with harmful drugs. Over 150 have been sentenced to harsh jail terms. To prevent the public from knowing the truth and its evil conducts, the Chinese government blocks western media information from entering China, and at the same time, uses its gigantic propaganda system to cheat its own citizens with fabricates stories. Countless people who tried to reveal their personal true stories to western media have been sentenced with the accusation of "revealing state secretes." In doing so, the Chinese government has severely violated the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on freedom of belief and freedom of association, as well as its own Constitution.
World Falun Dafa Radio started transmission on July 1, 2000, with the goal to penetrate the Chinese information blockade and to bring factual reports on Falun Gong to the Chinese public. Trouble by its brutal persecution being exposed, the Chinese government shortly started jamming our transmission. The newly added transmission frequencies will overcome the jamming.
