[Mainland China] The adventure of going one thousand Li (a long distance) to appeal
Several months ago, a Dafa practitioner in her 50s living in a remote area of the Northwestern part of China wanted to go to Beijing to appeal. But she was very poor and did not have the money for traveling expenses and her home is very far away from Beijing. But no tribulation could prevent her from realizing a Dafa practitioners' vow of "assisting the teacher in the human world." Therefore, she went resolutely to Beijing on foot. On the way to Beijing, she did not have money to buy food, so, she begged for food along the way. It is not hard to imagine the hardships she has endured.
One day, she came near a desert. In order to go to Beijing, she had to cross this desolate and uninhabited desert. She wished to beg for some food so that she would have the strength to hurry on her journey. But, she approached more than ten families and received nothing. She steeled her heart and walked to the desert with an empty stomach. At the edge of the desert, she found a well and a meal was sitting on the platform of the well, but there was no one out in the wilderness. The weather was warm, but the meal was very fresh and wrapped in a plastic bag. It seemed as though it had been prepared just for her. After eating and drinking, she felt energetic and walked out of the desert in one vigorous effort.
Practitioners know that this was the mighty virtue of Dafa, that it is the teacher secretly helping us. The Dafa practitioners' firm resolution toward Dafa is unshakable! Those who depart from the heavens and rebel against righteousness will be eliminated by history.
This practitioner was arrested and detained in the detention center of Xicheng District, Beijing. She was released in late June.

[Mainland China] Police like to read Dafa news
A practitioner in China can access the internet at home. The head of the local police department knows about this but he not only did not forbid him but also went to his home often to ask for some Dafa news to read, especially the news of overseas Dafa promotion. Here, we, on behalf of the practitioners in China salute the overseas practitioners who work hard in assisting the teacher in the human world! Your actions not only help people around the world know about Dafa, but at the same time have exerted a subtle influence on the police in China.
[Mainland China] Some practitioners in China persisted in distributing Dafa information materials every day for two months
Right now, many practitioners in China persist in distributing Dafa information materials every day. Some practitioners have set a quota for themselves and they will go home only if they finish distributing several hundred copies of Dafa materials. This has lasted for about two months. Some practitioners who did not step out before have seen their own shortcomings and have melted into the mighty torrent of "assisting the teacher in the human world." However, still some practitioners have remained in the state of studying and practicing alone at home. Especially those practitioners who live in the sensitive urban areas and have endured relatively greater pressure for a long period of time cannot take this step. Only when we earnestly practice what we advocate, and assimilate into Dafa, will we really understand many profound principles. We hope every genuine practitioner will let go of all the attachments, break through all the barriers, cherish the last chance that teacher has given us, and leave behind a splendid record in our course of cultivation.
[Mainland China] Public security on the streets of Beijing searched the pedestrians at will
On September 15, Public Security personnel, joint defense team members, and police could be seen everywhere on the streets of Beijing. They used the excuse of clearing the "mangliu" (people who do not have jobs and do bad things) from outside of Beijing before October 1 (the National Day of China) to search and interrogate Dafa practitioners. Someone saw a public security officer intercepting a pedestrian and attempting to search his bag (searching to see whether there were Dafa materials in the bag). However, this pedestrian was not a Dafa practitioner and he felt very indignant about this illegal interception, so he cursed at the public security personnel. The police then came over and told the pedestrian to apologize to the public security officer. This incident has shown that the Chinese government is extremely nervous about Falun Gong. But these senseless actions will not make the brave Dafa practitioners retreat. Instead, they will only arouse the indignation of the whole society.
[Mainland China] Unfortunate Experience of Student Practitioners from Ju County, Shandong Province
Zhu Kuihua, a Falun Dafa practitioner and graduate student from Shandong, was expelled from school simply for persisting in practicing Falun Gong and was sent back to her hometown in Zhujiawa Village, Ju County of Shandong Province. Zhu was well known in her neighborhood because of her outstanding school performance. Back in her village, Zhu continued practicing Falun Gong and was thus harshly beaten up until bruises were all over her body. In an attempt to stop her from practicing, her family locked her in a room. Meanwhile, she started a protracted hunger strike. Up to this August, she had hunger struck for over 90 days. Later, the police took her away from home and now she is detained in the Jinan Labor Camp.
A male practitioner from Zhu's neighboring village was a student of a prestigious university in Shanghai. Because of practicing Falun Dafa, he was denied a diploma by the school upon graduation this year. He went to Beijing to appeal about the unfair treatment of Falun Dafa and himself. After he was escorted back to his village, three policemen jointly beat him up very harshly. A relatively older policeman even stripped him of all his clothes and punched him while stamping down on the vulnerable lower part of his body.
[Mainland China] Unshakable Firmness
On July 19, five practitioners in the Chaoyang District of Beijing were approached either at home or at their workplaces by the local police. The police showed them a "summons" and claimed to invite them to the police station simply to have a talk and watch a video. After they were brought to the police station, however, the police wanted to send them to the detention center. The actual reason was that the police feared that they would go to appeal to the government on July 20th. But the practitioners believed that they had committed no crime and it was the police that had violated the law by taking them from their homes and sending them to the detention center. Therefore, all of them sat on the ground and refused to get into the police vehicle, with three of them sitting in the lotus position. The police had to lift them and cram them into the vehicle one by one. In the detention center, the police had to lift them one by one and put them on the ground with great effort. At that point, the practitioners were still in lotus position. Exhausted, the police could not lift the practitioners any longer. So one policeman started dragging a practitioner along the ground, but was stopped by other policemen. Eventually, the police used a handy cart to move the practitioners into the detention center. Throughout the course of the event, the practitioners' legs were always folded up. One policeman actually said: "You are practicing really well."
On July 21st, four or five police cars arrived at another practitioner's home. The police had failed to find her on the 19th. When the practitioner was forced into the police vehicle, her mother, who was over 70 years old, held on to the police car and would not let go. The practitioner took the opportunity to jump out of the car and she sat in lotus position at home. The police asked the director of the police station for further instructions, and he ordered that she be lifted and taken away. Two policemen tried to lift her, but failed. Another joined in, but they failed again. Then another joined and the practitioner was finally lifted up. It took four strong young men to carry a petite middle-aged woman only 1.5 meters (5ft) tall. Have the policemen involved thought a little about whats actually going on?
[Mainland China] "Non-Falun Gong Practitioner" Certificate Needed to Purchase Long-distance Bus Tickets
When purchasing a long-distance bus ticket in Zibo of Shandong province, a Dafa practitioner from Beijing was required to show a "Non-Falun Gong Practitioner" certificate issued by the local police station or else he could not buy a ticket. The practitioner asked: "I came here to visit my relatives. Do I need a certificate to go back to work?" The reply he got was: a certificate was needed no matter what. Fortunately, the practitioner was able to take the train to return to Beijing instead.
[Mainland China]
Since July of this year, 69 female practitioners in Guangzhou have been sent to the Chatou Women Labor Camp of Guangdong for labor education. They are forced to weave five straw hats each day and are punished if they fail to fill their quota.
After a month of relative peace on the surface, the PRC National Day is approaching and the police have started targeting practitioners again. It has been reported that "re-education classes" will be held again and a crackdown campaign will be renewed soon. This time, the classes will last for two to three months and practitioners who are not transformed at the end will be sent to labor camps. [Mainland China]
Recently, practitioners in a certain city who had gone to appeal in Beijing were required to submit photos to local police stations or residential committees. When asked about the purpose, the police or residential committees said the photos were for filling out forms and filing purposes. No ulterior scheme has yet been discovered, but we cannot help but wonder why the government and the police are putting so much effort into punishing these good people, and yet choose to ignore so many bad people and bad deeds in the society.
