Li Jing, female, was a 25-year-old student of Jilin Province's Professional Business College who had been detained many times for going to Beijing to appeal ... On October 11, as Changchun City policemen Li Haifeng and Li Zhuji from Xi'an Square Police Station were escorting her by train from Qiqihar City in Heilongjiang Province to Changchun City in Jilin Province, her young life ended at a location 80 kilometers from Qiqihar City. Police claimed that Li Jing died from jumping out of the train. Details are under investigation.

NEW YORK, October 20, 2001 (Falun Dafa Information Center) - A 25 year old Falun Gong woman died in police custody on October 11, bringing the number of confirmed deaths to 300 in Jiang Zemin' crusade to eradicate the peaceful spiritual practice. However, sources inside the Chinese Government are saying the death toll is well over 1,000.

BEIJING (AP)--The Falun Gong spiritual [group] said Friday it suspected China was using fears of anthrax to further a smear campaign against it.

China' Foreign Ministry said a letter containing "suspicious substances" and publicity materials about Falun Gong, which is banned in China, was received Tuesday by an employee of a U.S. firm in China.
