(Clearwisdom.net) With the further advancement of the Fa-rectification process, the evil forces hopelessly feel the approach of their day of reckoning. All the measures they have previously used to sabotage Dafa have failed, so they are now transforming a new means to cause damage by using everyday people's attachments to fame, profit and sentiment.
For example, if you liked little animals when you were an everyday person, one of your relatives will suddenly bring you a dog or some other pet, put it down for you and leave, giving you no choice but to accept it.
If you wrote about news for fame and profit prior to your cultivation, some old friends that you have not seen in years will visit and ask you to write articles for which you will be generously paid.
If you were divorced, an uninvited matchmaker will come and introduce you to young affluent persons of the opposite gender.
All of the above-mentioned phenomena are by no means accidental. The majority of practitioners have these kinds of experiences. Previously, when the evil forces persecuted Falun Dafa and practitioners, they either severely harmed them, or made up rumors defaming them in order to force them to give up cultivation and betray Dafa. For over two years now, Dafa practitioners have "follow[ed] Teacher closely, steadfastly cultivating Dafa" ("The Knowing Heart," poem by Teacher Li Hongzhi, October 12, 1999), and have gone through all the hardships in an upright and noble way. The harsh obstacles and coercive tricks they employed totally failed to work. Now they use seductive means instead. They take advantage of practitioners' own pursuit of comfort to wear down their will to cultivate. Both kinds of approaches--the harsh and the seductive--have the same purpose: to cause practitioners to give up their Fa-rectification cultivation, so that they will instantly fall from the high levels that they are at, making their cultivation in vain.
I read a fellow practitioner's article, which said that the pursuit of comfort has permeated even to very high levels. I was greatly inspired by this understanding. The pursuit of comfort manifested at higher levels is the unwillingness to endure risks for Fa-rectification. Manifested at the level of everyday people, it is laziness, pleasure seeking and reluctance to make progress. Everyone has these kinds of attachments. A Dafa practitioner, no matter how well he may have cultivated prior to Consummation, will still have these things to some degree. When certain external factors occur, the pursuit of comfort will naturally arise, negatively influencing the practitioners' cultivation. This pursuit is very deeply hidden, almost imperceptible, and is very difficult to eliminate all at once. The evil forces have spotted this and use everyday people and all means to provoke practitioners' attachments. In this way, the cultivators' righteous thoughts and beliefs are gradually weakened, and they drift away from righteous enlightenment and abandon their righteous behavior.
When we encounter the above situation, we must search internally to find any possible omissions in our cultivation. If any omissions are detected, we should eliminate them at once, so that the evil forces will have no chance to exploit them. As the Fa-rectification approaches its final stage with the passing of each day, we should keep ourselves highly vigilant. We should view everything with our wisdom, and discern the seductive tricks that the evil forces utilize to sabotage the Fa-rectification. We should send forth righteous thoughts more often, eradicating all negative attachments within our minds, including the pursuit of comfort.
"With a determined heart, lift the feet with legs weighing thousands of pounds, Forbearing hardships, striving forward, and discarding attachments" (from "Climbing Mount Tai," a poem by Teacher Li Hongzhi, in Hong Yin). Let us cultivate diligently and take every step well in the last stage of the Fa-rectification process.
Please compassionately rectify anything improper within the above enlightenment.
