[Minghui Net] On February 1, 2001, Australian Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ye requested a replacement passport from the Chinese Consulate in Sydney. She needed the new passport because her old passport had no more blank pages remaining [for extensions]. Ms. Ye was told her "case" must be reported to China. On March 19, after nearly 40 days of troubles, Ms. Ye received a call from the consulate requesting that Ms. Ye write a statement [a written guarantee] to no longer practice Falun Gong, and was told this request came from the Chinese Government. Ms. Ye rejected this unreasonable request, and took her old passport back on the same day.
Commentary: Jiang Zemin's persecution of Falun Gong has been extended from a domestic affair to overseas, but if he had not been ominously helped, he would not prevail. We sincerely urge these people who hold overseas public office to quickly regain your conscience, do not make yourselves Jiang Zemin's funeral object [to be buried with a dead person, a Chinese saying], dishonoring your own future life. The people who persecute Falun Dafa will have extremely serious consequences in the future; do not let a small advantage at the present time deceive you.
