In addition to the detention, persecution, and murder of Falun Dafa practitioners in China, Jiang Zemin's administration has shamelessly stretched its vicious hands towards overseas practitioners as well. Teng Chunyan, a U.S. permanent resident, Zhao Ming, a student in Ireland, and Zhu Ying, a Canadian permanent resident, were illegally incarcerated only because they went to China to tell the government the truth about Falun Dafa and reveal the facts of the persecution so as to save deceived beings. Yet they were detained and severely tortured. Persecuting Dafa practitioners and damaging Falun Dafa is intolerable.
Seeing the unrestrained violation of human rights and the escalating persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners by the administration of Jiang Zemin, practitioners in Chicago started to appeal in front of the Chinese Consulate every day, beginning May 21, 2001. They are urging the release of Falun Dafa practitioners detained in China.
The afternoon of May 26, 2001 saw the climax of this activity when dozens of Dafa practitioners from Chicago and nearby cities sat in the rain, holding one hand in front of their chests and meditating on one thought: The Fa rectifies the cosmos, the Evil is completely eliminated. Like surging waves, the righteous force of Dafa practitioners is washing out all the evil elements in the three realms. Rain, hail, even knives falling from the sky would find us unshakable.
Come, tempest! Come, torrent! All evil beings intending to damage Dafa: if you want to see the faithful hearts of Dafa practitioners, just come! The benevolent will end up with happiness while the evil will get tribulations. Ahead of us is a bright future and a clear world.
