Marching from Boston to Washington, D.C., followers of Falun Gong, an exercise and meditation [group] banned in China, will bring their protest to Philadelphia this week. Protest marchers are expected to reach Trenton today and head toward Center City, with a news conference and rally at the Liberty Bell planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday.
The marchers, both Chinese expatriates and U.S. followers, aim to draw attention to ongoing persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. As many as 200 followers of Falun Gong have died in police custody in China in the past two years.
