(Clearwisdom.net) Seven Falun Gong practitioners from Auckland, New Zealand have started a hunger strike near the front gate of the Chinese consulate to support the rescue efforts of practitioners illegally imprisoned in the Masanjia Labor Camp. One hundred and thirty practitioners at Masanjia have been on hunger strike for over 20 days because the authorities have refused to release them after the expiration of their terms.
On August 24, after parading one hour in downtown Auckland, the practitioners from Auckland and Hamilton read a statement about their hunger strike and distributed flyers about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China to passers-by. They told the public about the urgent situation of the practitioners in China and appealed for aid from the members of local society.
