(Clearwisdom.net) In "Eliminate Your Last Attachment(s)," Teacher said, "...just by having your heart unaffected you will be able to handle all situations." To share my understanding of this statement, let me start with my recent experience. One night, I was riding a bike to distribute Dafa truth-clarifying materials in a village. As I was approaching my destination, a thought suddenly surfaced in my mind, "If I put the bike behind the cornstalks in the field, the villagers might see it and become watchful." However, I forgot about this concern when I came close to the village, and proceeded to hide the bike beside the cornstalks. In about an hour, I finished distributing the materials and started looking for the bike, which by then had disappeared without a trace.
During my walk back home, I criticized myself for not having completely righteous thoughts.
The next evening, I was again on a trip--this time walking--to a neighboring village to distribute truth-clarifying materials. Sending forth righteous thoughts all the way, my heart felt especially pure, and my thoughts were very righteous. Within half an hour of entering the village, I was able to hand out materials to more than one hundred families. I hardly met any villagers in the process; there was no interference at all. Even the dogs did not bark. The environment around me was as peaceful and tranquil as my heart.
At about 9:00 p.m., I went to another village. I thought it would be better if I did not meet anyone, but at the entrance to the village I noticed a person staring at me. I tried to calm myself down by taking a detour before I began distributing the literature. Along my way this time, I was accompanied constantly by the barking of dogs, and it seemed as if someone were always watching me attentively. Although I kept reciting Teacher's Fa-rectification verses, I could not help feeling somewhat alarmed and bewildered. Later, I even thought, "Will some serious problems come up?" With this thought, I saw a motorcycle with a strong beam of light slowly following me from behind.
Through my cultivation practice, I now have a new understanding of Teacher's words, "Just by having your heart unaffected you will be able to handle all situations."
A true Dafa disciple always keeps his indestructible righteous thoughts on the universal truth. Teacher said, "However strong the righteous thoughts are, that's how great the power is" ("Also in a Few Words"). Righteous thoughts emanating from a pure realm of mind are incomparably benevolent and powerful. They dictate the external environment and every dimension in the universe. More importantly, Dafa practitioners now have the privilege of being in the same historical period as their benevolent and great Teacher, who told us "Demonic interference occurs because we have inadequacies. When you conduct yourself well, you're already winning the battle, and Master will take care of you" (Lecture at the Experience Sharing Conference in Singapore).
While following Teacher and progressing on the path of Fa-rectification, we should be able to keep our hearts pure and unaffected in the face of complicated situations or frenzied persecution by the evil, as long as we have righteous faith in Dafa and Teacher. This mental state will dictate all that takes place in the external world. Actually, however peaceful our hearts, that is how peaceful the external environment will be; and however we think it should be, that is how it will manifest in the external surroundings. On the contrary, if we are agitated, this agitation will reflect in our environment, and whatever fears we may have in our hearts, they will materialize because the evil on the brink of destruction will seize every opportunity to do evil. The closer it approaches its destruction, the more frenzied it becomes.
Teacher's instruction, "Just by having your heart unaffected you will be able to handle all situations," displays the immeasurable, mighty virtue of Dafa, and demonstrates the power of Dafa disciples' indestructible and all-conquering righteous faith.
