1. Keeping a Righteous State of Mind
I'm a Western practitioner living in France. Last Saturday, I went to the Notre Dame church in Paris to hand out flyers explaining the truth of the persecution to Chinese tourists visiting there. In the beginning, I had come up with what I thought was a "natural" way of doing this. My idea took the form of sitting and reading Zhuan Falun, waiting for a Chinese tourist to see the book, then using the opportunity to talk to them. I was in fact hiding myself behind the book. Many Chinese looked at me reading the book but did not come over. As more time passed, the less strength I had, and I was feeling heartbroken, thinking, "Come on, please, accept my flyers." For more than half an hour, nothing happened and the flyers I did hand out were all refused.
Because of this warped state of mind, I was about to leave the place thinking, "It's not a good day." What is a "good" day? This thinking was really pitiful. I felt the eviláwas laughing seeing me complying witháits arrangements. I suddenly said to myself very loudly, "NO! I cannot let myself be repressed by the evil. I will clarify the truth to these people no matter what happens. "My mind was thinking like that of a boxer in the ring, thinking that if evil was approaching again it was sure to have a bad outcome.
The first the Chinese touristsáI met were a husband, wife and their 7 year old son. I walked toward them to say hello, and started to explain the situation of Falun Gong. They were pleasantly surprised by the fact that I could say a few words in Chinese. They smiled and asked how I felt about practicing Falun Gong. Afterátalking to me for a little while about Falun Gong and looking at the truth-clarifying material, they offered to return it to me. WhenáI told them it was a gift, they were so happy that they askedáthat we have a photoátogether. In the photo, the wife and husband are standing next to me, and the husbandáis displaying the booklet very proudly in his hand.
The second Chinese man I met was also very happy as soon as he saw me. We discussed Falun Gong for about 15 minutes in an open and pleasant manner, covering the reasons of the persecution and the lies of the government propaganda. In the end, he said he was extremely happy that we had met, and his eyes showed he was sincere.
One thought can determine theáresult of whatever we do.áA warped mentality givesárise to warped results, fear nourishes fear, and ordinary thinking nourishes ordinary actions. This short experience made that clearer to me.

2. Facing the Chinese Consulate in Paris
More and more people are expressing their support of Falun Gong. This week when we wentáto protest the escalating persecution, we took up our positions on theápavement directly opposite to the Chinese consulate.
At that time, a father and his 3-4 years old daughter passed behind us. Theáchild asked her father curiously, "What is this dad?" The father replied, "On this side are the good people, and on that side are the bad ones." They did not even stop and quietly continued walking by.
