(Cleasrwisdom.net) My name is Li Xiaoming, and I work at the Research Institute of Local Specialties, Academy of Agricultural Sciences of China. On March 1, 2001, two other practitioners and I were asked to attend a meeting at a conference room in the Epidemic Disease Building. The deputy director of our institution Dong Xue and Li Huanxia, head of the human resources department, held the meeting. Members from the public security division of our institute also attended the meeting. They asked us if we were still practicing Falun Gong. Because a practitioner and I told them that we were still practicing, they gave us some negative propaganda from the government to read. The next morning, they again called us to the conference room and tried to force us to write pledges and letters to denounce Dafa. I refused to write the letters and was forcibly sent to a brainwashing class held by the "610 Office" of Changyi District, Jilin City, Jilin Province, where I was completely deprived of personal freedom. My wife was about to give the birth at the time, and I was the only one in the family capable of caring for her. It had been found through a medical examination that the fetus was too big and in the wrong position, indicating the need for an operation.
On the evening of March 3, my wife went to see Li Huanxia. She asked him if they could temporally let me go home to take care of her during this critical period. Li Huanxia said, "Since we just sent him to the class, we cannot take him out right now. We could take him out after one week but the question of if he can be released hinges on his attitude toward practicing Falun Gong." My wife was under tremendous pressure at the time and needed to see me. On March 5, 2001, she went to Jilin to look for me, and she died in a car accident on the way. If I had not been sent to the brainwashing class, the accident that took my wife's life wouldn't have happened. Now my entire family is suffering from the terrible loss.
