1. Judong Labor Camp
After New Year's Day in 2001, several hundred female Dafa practitioners were sent to Judong Female Labor Camp. In an attempt to force the practitioners to write pledges giving up practicing Falun Dafa, the guards continuously used violence against them. Many practitioners were shocked with electric batons on their palms, backs, lips, and temples.
Because she refused to write the pledge, Zhou Xinfang was locked in confinement for over twenty days, deprived of sleep, and shocked on her temples with electric batons. As a result, she can no longer take care of herself. Zhao Yulan, a supervisor of the squadron where Zhou was assigned, said that they were simply conducting a medical experiment.
Wan Yuanzhen was shocked on her palms. For several months afterwards, she could not even wash clothes with her hands.
For resisting detention, Lu Yaqin, who is in her 50's, was dragged into a cell and kicked repeatedly by 7-8 male police officers. She is still unable to walk normally.
On February 20, 2001, in order to safeguard Dafa, some practitioners erased articles attacking Teacher and Dafa from the blackboard. The guards then instigated six drug offenders to beat the practitioners, with 8-9 guards watching. Six practitioners were knocked down one by one by the drug offenders. With their cotton coats torn apart and upper body stripped, the practitioners were then lifted and thrown into the cell.
From May 3 to May 6, the cell head and inmates tortured Dafa practitioners by pinching the acupuncture points inside their thighs, pinching their nipples, and hitting their private areas with their knees, hoping to force them to write the pledges. Supervisor Zhou Ruifang was especially vicious towards the practitioners. She claimed that "education does not work all the time," often pulling on the practitioners' hair or beating them. Female guards Hong Ying and Huo Yan abused the practitioners in the exercise yard by slapping their faces, pulling their hair, and kicking them.
2. Fangqiang Labor Camp
On May 29, 2001, Dafa practitioners in the Third Brigade of Fangqiang Labor Camp protested their illegal detention by going on strike. All 18 practitioners participating in the strike were shocked by the police with electric batons. Male practitioner Tang Jianxing was hung up in the air with his hands tied behind his back. The guards then shocked him in his mouth with an electric baton. After half an hour of this torture, Tang's teeth were loosened, and he could not speak for more than a week.
Li Yongzhong was locked in confinement for more than fifty days and forced to remain standing for long periods of time. He was shocked with three electric batons simultaneously for over an hour.
Zhu Yong was sent to the strict management team for refusing to answer roll call. He was pushed to the ground by five guards and beaten for 4-5 hours until he lost consciousness. After being detained for 29 days in the strict management team, Zhu reported the beatings to the oversight office of the labor camp. However, a policeman named Zhu said, "We will not handle this issue unless you completely follow the labor camp rules."
In addition to beating the practitioners themselves, the police also instigated the prisoners to torture Dafa practitioners. Practitioner Guo was brutally beaten by four prisoners for over three hours continuously in the strict management team. More than a week of torture caused his legs to become swollen and unable to support him. He was eventually sent to the labor camp hospital.
Hu Yuanzhi, a Dafa practitioner from the Second Brigade, was denied sleep for several days consecutively. He was forced to run while carrying human excrement, causing him to become covered with it.
Yang Kui, another practitioner, refused to cooperate with the evil and was tortured at night. When he went back to his cell the next morning, he was covered with bruises on his face and all over his body.
In the Fourth Brigade, the police tried to play a videotape slandering Dafa, but all the practitioners, led by Gan Xinjun, refused to watch it. The practitioners were then shocked with electric batons, but the viewing of the videotape was cancelled.
