A FALUN Dafa display is said to have created so much interest at Cotters Markets and Stockland and Willows shopping complexes last week that workshops are being held at The Strand this Sunday.
It is claimed Falun Dafa is an ancient Chinese practice to improve the mind, body and spirit. It involves four gentle arm-moving exercises while standing, and a seated meditation exercise.
Instructor Amanda Kitto said it was a relaxing exercise which "helps you wind down and makes you feel wonderful".
Ms Kitto said people in China were being persecuted for practicing Falun Dafa.
"There were 100 million people practicing it before the government started persecuting people," she said.
"They're putting them in forced labor camps and burning the books," she said.
Classes will be held from 4pm to 6pm at Anzac Park on Sunday free of charge. It is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
