Officials have said, "If you do not maintain solidarity with the central government, you will be dealt with harshly and fired from your jobs." Their attempts to force the practitioners to betray their belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance", however, have been in vain.

Her children cried and grabbed onto their Mom's hand, trying to prevent the police from taking her away. When Li Gang stepped forward to stop them, the police arrested him too. Although he was not a Falun Gong practitioner, when the police were dragging him out of the door, he put his hands high over his head and shouted, "Falun Dafa is good! Falun Dafa is the righteous Fa." While Sun Fengjie was being transported to the forced labor camp, the police beat her, and she arrived with a nosebleed. She was released one week later. Her two children were detained until midnight before they were allowed to go home. After Li Gang was arrested, he was jailed for one month before being released.
