As it was Chinese New Year, a friend of mine and I decided to go to the Chinese Embassy in Cyprus to wish them Happy New Year and hand over a Happy New Year VCD in Chinese to the Ambassador.
The Ambassador was not there, but two officials talked to us. We handed over the VCD and wished them a happy New Year. I thought I should take the opportunity to tell them that Falun Gong is good and that my family practices it. Also, I could tell them how much we benefited from practicing it and that it was wrong of the Chinese president to persecute innocent Falun Gong practitioners. When I started to talk about Falun Gong they got very aggressive and started to interrogate me on the spot, "Who are you, where are you from, why are you here!?" Although I had already told them, they asked again and again, being very aggressive.
I asked them why they got so upset, and told them that I came in peace. I was very calm and tried to explain things to them, but instead they got even more aggressive and demanded me to hand over my passport. I said, "Why should I give you my passport, I'm a Greek citizen." Over and over again, screaming and shouting, they demanded I should hand over my passport. I refused to, but as I had it in my pocket I just showed it to them so they could see I am a Greek citizen. At that moment, a third official that had came to the scene, violently grabbed my passport and tried to take it from my hands. I held on to it and said, "What are you doing, you can't take my passport, I'm a Greek citizen". He didn't listen and just kept pulling. He even threatened, "This is Chinese territory!" At last, fortunately I pulled it from his hands. Finally, yelling and screaming they threw us out.
I want to tell these officials: don't be fooled by Jiang's lies, good is rewarded with good and evil is met by evil. Wake up before it is too late.
