On January 27, 2002, Dafa practitioners from St. Petersburg and Moscow gathered and held a peaceful demonstration in front of the Chinese Embassy. The practitioners unfurled banners reading, "Chinese Government: Stop the Illegal Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners," and "Stop Slandering Falun Gong in Russia." During the demonstration, the practitioners also held photos of those practitioners tortured to death by Jiang's regime.
During the appeal, the embassy's staff refused to accept Russian Dafa practitioner's open letter by waving their hands behind the glass window. There were many cars coming out of the embassy and the passengers inside looked at us with interest. The cars moved slowly past the appeal site, then accelerated after they had gone by us a certain distance.
The practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts again and again. There were not so many passers-by on the street in front of the embassy; however, each one stopped, looked at the posters attentively, accepted the truth-clarifying materials and inquired about more information from the practitioners.
After the demonstration, the practitioners went to Red Square and sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate evils. The environment is changing and people's attitudes are changing. Generally it is a sensitive issue to have any activity on the square, but we demonstrated the exercises freely and took video footage. Numerous Falun appeared clearly in the exercise photos (it was not snowing at that time).
