(Clearwisdom.net) Sarah, a 14 year old Falun Dafa practitioner from the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia, was nominated for the Maroochy Shire "Cultural Award" in the International Relations category. As a young teenager, Sarah is an inspiring example of one who diligently practices "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance" in daily life, and continues to participate in numerous activities for Fa Rectification. As a nominee for the Cultural award, and in recognition for efforts that Sarah has made to raise awareness of the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in China, she has received a certificate of appreciation from our local Maroochy Shire Council commending her on her 'great commitment'.
Sarah and her younger brother, Richard, have both participated in two different SOS walks. She has participated in many parades and other Hongfa activities in Australia and overseas. Whether in Hong Kong, Toowoomba, Canberra, or Brisbane, Sarah enthusiastically helps to let others know of the wonderful benefits of practicing Falun Dafa. At home, Sarah diligently does things for Dafa on the computer, printing and scanning articles for other practitioners to read. Sarah is very diligent with Fa study and through her example at our local study group, she has encouraged other young practitioners to want to read the Fa with the group as well.
Whether highlighting the plight of practitioners in China in her homework assignments or supervising and playing with younger practitioners, Sarah is a thoughtful and most caring teenager. Recently, she and her brother traveled a long way with their parents to North Queensland, stopping in many cities and townships to allow more people to know of and experience Falun Dafa. This is certainly not the usual way most young Australians spend their summer holidays, but Sarah and her family happily participated, knowing that their efforts would give others the opportunity to benefit from the practice and teachings of Falun Dafa!
