Two Australian Falun Gong members arrested in China overnight, have been released.
Melbourne couple, Jarrod and Emma Hall, were arrested within seconds of unfurling pro-Falun Gong banners in Beijing's Tiananmen Square.
Family and friends had feared for the Hall's safety.
Local Falun Gong spokesman Chris Kominos, says they were physically assaulted and had their money taken.
"I received a phone call from Jarrod himself calling from Singapore," he said.
"He actually had to borrow money from someone to make the phone call because the police stole his money.
"Basically all the money they had left was about 350 yuen, which he told me roughly was equal to $A40 and the police took all that money from them."
