In the afternoon of April 12, I went to the Chinese Consulate General in Auckland to send forth righteous thoughts and hold up banners like usual. Right after 6 p.m., a police car came and stopped by the Chinese Consulate General. It was said that a high level Chinese official arrived in Auckland and was coming to visit the Consulate General. I went up to the two policemen in the car to hand them pamphlets about Falun Dafa, and introduced the practice. I told them the reason why I went there every week, that is, to appeal to the Chinese government to stop persecuting Falun Gong.
When the official and his accompanying personnel arrived at the Consulate General, we stood outside the building holding banners which read "Urgent Rescue Persecuted Falun Gong Practitioners in China," "China: Stop Persecuting Falun Gong" and "382 Fellow Practitioners in China Tortured to Death."
After a while, a policeman came up to me and said, "I heard about Falun Gong before. Once I met a Chinese woman on the street and talked with her about Falun Gong. She said Falun Gong was not good, and it has been banned in China. To my surprise, I suddenly found her face turned dark gray after saying that sentence. Do you know what caused that?" I said to the policeman, "That woman even disagrees with 'Truth, Compassion and Forbearance,' what do you think her future will be like?" He nodded and agreed with me.
Two policemen were on duty in front of the Chinese Consulate General at all times. I used this opportunity to let them know more about Dafa. I took out a recent truth-clarifying newspaper and handed it to them. I also pointed out to them one photo on it. It showed how the Foreign Affairs Minister and Foreign Affairs Ministry Members met us and expressed their support when we walked from Auckland to Wellington last year. It was almost dark at that time, so the policeman used a flashlight to see the photo carefully. He was very impressed by the photo. I told him "New Zealand police had showed great support to Falun Gong since the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in 1999." He agreed and said, "I was also on duty at that time. The Chinese president insisted that the banner hanging outside the conference site be taken down, otherwise he would not come in. I felt very bad at that time. He was very unreasonable. As I was standing here today, I thought to myself: if those people [he pointed at the Consulate General when saying this] requested me to ask you stay further away from here, I will definitely say 'no'." I put my thumb up in appreciation and said, "If everyone can speak out his or her voice for what is right, the evil will be eliminated. Thank you for your support."
