On March 24, 2002, Sunday, Falun Gong practitioners from Germany, Austria, Sweden and Taiwan held a group practice on Vorosmarty Square. Many passersby accepted our flyers introducing Falun Gong and the persecution in China. It was a serene site.
TV2 Station photographers took video footage for the 6:30 p.m. evening news. Reporters from three newspapers were also present. Though they were there apparently by coincidence, they were very interested in Falun Gong. Around 11:30 a.m., we started our parade. The first stop was City Hall. Ms. Szilvia Akbar visited the city mayor's assistant and the discussion went well. The next stop was the MTV station. Ms. Akbar and Mr. Schrott handed over the information on the persecution of Falun Gong to the TV station. Later, the parade reached the parliament building, where, also coincidentally, there were more reporters. They took footage of the scene as we sent forth righteous thoughts. The last stop of the parade was the Foreign Affairs Ministry. Ms. Akbar and Mr. Schrott talked with a representative of the ministry and handed over Falun Gong books and information on the persecution.
The whole parade ended in a peaceful ambience. In the beginning, many police accompanied us; later they didn't worry and left one after another. Finally no police accompanied us at the end of the parade.
We had a similar experience in front of the Chinese Embassy. On the first day, there were more than ten police and three police vans. They even blocked the street with an iron net. On the second day, there were only some plastic barriers left, two police vans and a few police. On the third day, the plastic barriers were also removed and there were only three police.
We called on the Hungarian Government, media and all kind-hearted people to help Falun Gong practitioners in China and stop the killing.
