To celebrate the introduction of Falun Dafa, practitioners in Ireland held a parade and an exercise demonstration in Dublin on Sunday May 12. The day was beautiful, the sun shone as we sent forth righteous thoughts in St Stephens green in the heart of the city; we then set out with pure hearts. A large banner read: Zhao Ming is back Thank you Ireland. Many people, upon recognising Ming, congratulated him on his safe return.
Walking to the music of Pu Du we made our way through the center of the city, passing two of the busiest pedestrian streets. The bright yellow colors of the parade shone, and kind hearted Dubliners smiled back at us as they read the leaflets. The parade was guided at the front and rear by police who were happy to stop traffic on the main streets of the city. Police on horseback flanked the sides of the parade adding to the magnificence of the occasion.
Approaching the River Liffey we noticed a large bright circle form around the sun. Looking up to the sky practitioners and onlookers alike were looking up at the magnificent scene in the sky. The bright halo around the sun shone for about 2 hours as the parade went through the city center.
Upon reaching our destination in the middle of O'Connell Street, the main street in Dublin, we demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises. People on both sides of the busy street stopped in anticipation before we had even begun the sitting meditation. Many seemed to be transfixed by the beauty of the demonstration, and stayed there watching and talking to practitioners who explained how the principles of Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance) guide Falun Dafa cultivation practice.
After the activities in the city center practitioners went to the Chinese consulate to send forth righteous thoughts. Bright banners proclaiming May 13 as Falun Dafa day stood opposite the consulate while a chorus of western and Chinese practitioners sang Falun Dafa is good.
