Resolution
Condemning the systematic and brutal persecution of
Falun Gong in China
Whereas, This persecution is a violation of China's own constitution as well as the United Nation's Universal Declaration of Human Rights which China is party to; and
(Clearwisdom.net) On April 16, the Mayor of the City of Hudson, New York, issued a proclamation to praise Falun Gong practitioners and support their human rights. Below is the text of the proclamation.
Dear Friends:
I regret that I cannot be with you today to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Falun Gong. Certainly, one of the most basic human rights is the freedom to express one's spiritual beliefs and to practice one's faith without fear. From my visit to Mainland China, however I am sadly aware that the practitioners of the teachings of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance have faced continued resistance from the Chinese government since 1999.
