(Clearwisdom.net) From June 1 to June 9, 2002, the annual World Book Show opened in Singapore, "The City of Lions." Thousands of people came to the show each day. Are they searching inside the books for the meaning of life?
One day, I attended the World Book Show. In the hall where "World Classics and Collectibles" were displayed, I saw the Falun Gong booth. "Truth, Compassion, Tolerance" were very prominently displayed in large golden characters. On each side, blue banners were hung, reading, "The World Needs Truth-Compassion-Tolerance" "Falun Dafa is Righteous" and "Falun Dafa Widely Practiced in Over 60 Countries." Below the words were photos of people of different races practicing Falun Gong exercises in various countries around the world. Flyers and Falun Gong newspapers from around the world were posted on one side of the booth. A table displayed books written by Falun Gong founder Mr. Li Hongzhi. Dozens of styles of bookmarks and calendars that have been designed by practitioners were also on display. The bookmarks depicted paintings of elegant ladies from ancient times decorated with flowers. The designs reflected purity and serenity.
Behind the table, a few practitioners smiled to the visitors and handed out bookmarks and introductory flyers. A brief introductory message "Falun Dafa is good. Please come to learn the truth. Falun Gong is legal in Singapore" could be heard. Passersby stopped to watch a truth-clarification video and exercise demonstrations. Some talked to the practitioners and wanted to know the benefits of doing the exercises. Some browsed through the display boards and took introductory materials for family members and friends. Some people bought books and CDs and others and asked for places to learn the exercises.
In this very materialistic metropolitan city, at the World Book Show, the principle of "Truth Compassion Tolerance" touched many people's hearts and it will bring a beautiful future to these people who are searching the meaning of life.
