(Clearwisdom.net) Xinhua Net reported on July 6 from Huhehaote: recently within six days, Liangcheng City in Inner Mongolia has been attacked by hail on 8 separate occasions. The longest period the hails came down was 25 minutes. The largest hailstone had a diameter of 3 cm, and they accumulated on the ground as deep as 10 cm. The length, strength and intensity of hail this time has been severe and a rare incident.
It was calculated that the hail disaster has affected 9 towns and 35 villages, in which 30,000 residents and 125,000 mu (Chinese unit of area, 1 mu=0.1647 acre) of crops were affected. During the rain, after the hail, 5,500 mu of crops, 3 bridges and 33 water conservancy projects were destroyed, with an estimated combined cost of 15,600,000 Yuan.
