(Clearwisdom.net) I heard a lot about Falun Gong from the media in the past, but I didn't pay too much attention to it, nor did I make an effort to understand it. As a student, I was somewhat na ve.
After graduation, I came to the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone [Special Economic Zones are places in China that have special economic systems and policies and use a special economic management system] to look for a job. In the real world, I realized how ugly society is. The entire society will abandon you if you are poor.
I felt helpless. But soon I became hopeful, since I met a few Falun Gong practitioners and these people gave me hope. I have everyday people friends, but none of them helped me when I was in trouble. Instead, I only saw people's materialism. When I was in a difficult situation, what I saw most was cold faces and scoffing eyes.
The society's living standard has indeed improved, but what about morals and values? To reconstruct morality has become a meaningless promise of the government.
What is more important to everyone is belief, a belief that guides one's heart, makes sure that one speaks the truth, has compassion, and behaves in an upright manner. We see that communist belief does not have any effect in this regard at all. It is hard to find anybody in the communist ranks who is selfless and thinks about others first. But those kind of people are around us everyday. They are Falun Dafa disciples. I don't know Mr. Li Hongzhi, but I have seen his disciples with my own eyes. All Falun Gong practitioners, those extraordinary men and women, have loving and compassionate hearts.
In his book Zhuan Falun, Mr. Li Hongzhi promotes "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." Though I don't fully understand the meaning, I have seen it expressed in the actions of his disciples.
Human society needs "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," and this is an unalterable fact.
