Zhang Fuxiang, female, used to live in Anxian Village, Laicheng District, Laiwu City. Because she was devoted to practicing Falun Gong, the neighborhood office, local police station, village committee and the Laicheng District Police Department kept harassing and following her. Around May 20, 2002, the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] personnel abducted her and took her to the brainwashing class, where she went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. After escaping from the brainwashing class, she was forced to leave home and move from place to place to avoid further persecution. At 2 or 3 a.m. on September 25, 2002, she was arrested by the Laiwu City police while walking on a street in Zhangjia Town. She is now being detained in the Jinan Female Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Zhang's husband has to take care of two kids alone, one of whom is only five or six years old. Her sister Zhang Fucui, also a Falun Gong practitioner, had to leave her young daughter at home after being illegally sentenced to a forced labor camp in 2001. She is still in jail. Bai Shuhua, a female Falun Gong practitioner in Gangcheng District, Laiwu City, was detained in the Jinan Female Labor Camp and afterwards in Zibowang Village Forced Labor Camp, where she was subjected to brainwashing. After going back home, she was abducted again and brainwashed in the Xinxing Building until she suffered a mental collapse.
Qi Qingxing, a Falun Gong practitioner from Huangzhuang Town, Gangcheng District, Laiwu City, Shandong Province, has been forced to be homeless and destitute for two years because of constant persecution and harassment. He was illegally arrested while painting truth-clarifying signs about two months ago. After being sentenced, he was detained in the Ziliuwang Village Forced Labor Camp, where he was mentally and physically abused. The camp authorities advised the "610 Office" in Gangcheng District and the police station in Huangzhuang Town to take him when he was found to be suffering from severe heart problems. However, these two units refused to do so even though they had clear knowledge about Qi's health situation. Mrs. Qi is also a Falun Gong practitioner, and was forced to leave home under the persecution by the vicious "610 Office" in Gangcheng District. Her whereabouts are unknown at present. Their only son is sixteen years old and has an extremely difficult life, hoping that his parents will be able to return soon. It is not clear whether or not Qi Qingxing is still alive.
