(Clearwisdom.net May 15, 2003) WHO officials expressed on Tuesday that China's military refused to offer data on how many members in China's armed forces have been infected with the SARS illness. China's military estimates that the SARS cases in the military account for about 8 per cent of total SARS cases, and claim that this data has been reported to the higher authorities. But the WHO officials accused China's military of refusing to offer some basic data, such as victims' gender and their location. A representative of the WHO in Beijing, Henk Bekedam, said on Tuesday that the military and local authorities should share the information about these cases. If we want to control the SARS epidemic, we need to know this kind of data.
