In response to the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin, the former head of China, on charges of genocide against Falun Gong practitioners, the Chinese Security Bureau established a nationwide "Special Felony Investigation Network" to investigate and eliminate all activities involving the development of the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. In mid-May, an American resident's younger sister Zhao Meiyu was suddenly taken from home, as she is a plaintiff in the lawsuit.

Dafa Practitioner Li Zhongmin was killed for his belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in 2002. He was illegally arrested and brutally tortured at the Kaifa District Public Security Office of Dalian City, Liaoning Province in 2001.

Wang Xiulan was a 57-year-old Dafa practitioner who lived on Zhiguo Street, Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province. She was a very kind, honest, and outgoing woman. She and her husband lived a thrifty life. In 1995, she started to cultivate Falun Dafa and became very healthy afterwards. Seeing her change, her husband also started practicing. The couple practiced together and lived a happy life.
