(Clearwisdom.net) The police arrested a 28-year-old female graduate student from Chongqing University for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. During the evening of May 13, a vicious policeman raped this Dafa practitioner in front of witnesses at the Baihelin Detention Center, Shapingba District, Chongqing City.
After the assault, Wei Xingyan went on a hunger strike to protest these atrocities. The police officers damaged both her windpipe and esophagus while force-feeding her, and as a result of this, she is now unable to talk and her life is in great danger.
In May 2003, the Shapingba District "610 Office"* started another round of frenzied arrest of Dafa practitioners, and dozens of Dafa practitioners from China Southwest University of Political Science and Law, and Chongqing University were arrested. Most of them are staff members and students.
When the May 13 World Falun Dafa Day was approaching, Dafa practitioners at the Chongqing University campus set off balloons with banners attached. The university authorities immediately sealed off all the exits to search for those responsible and arrested all those they were suspicious of. Twenty-eight year old Wei Xingyan, a third year graduate student earning a Master's Degree in high voltage power transmission, was one of them. After she was arrested on May 11, she was sent to the Shapingba District "610 Office" for several days of illegal interrogation. On each occasion she took the opportunity to clarify the truth of Falun Dafa to her interrogators. The police regarded her as "behaving poorly."
On the evening of May 13, the police took her to a room in the Baihelin Detention Center and ordered two female inmates to strip off all her clothes. Wei Xingyan cried out, "You have no right to treat me this way!" Then a police officer in uniform came into the room and pushed Wei Xingyan to the ground and raped her in front of the two inmates. Wei Xingyan sternly warned the police, "I have seen your police badge number. You won't get away with this."
After the assault, Wei Xingyan started a hunger strike in protest. After repeated force-feedings by the police, on May 22, Wei Xingyan, already on the verge of death, was sent to the Southwest Hospital in Chongqing City. Many plain-clothes personnel from the "610 Office" guarded and monitored her day and night so that they could question, follow, and arrest those who went to visit her.
Due to an extremely tight information blockade, little else is known about Wei Xingyan's current situation. We urgently call on the international community to rescue Dafa practitioner Wei Xingyan and to prevent the police from murdering her for fear of their crimes being exposed.
