(Clearwisdom.net) This year marks the fourth time that practitioners have participated in Spokane's annual Valleyfest. The event began with a parade through the valley, followed by more activities in a park. In the park, there were a lot of venders as well as many booths set up by non-profit organization, including Falun Gong.

In the park, two stages were set up for entertainment and one of them was dedicated to hours of cultural dance performances. One practitioner performed a traditional Chinese dance called "The Flower Fairy," which won enthusiastic applause. After the dance, ten practitioners demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises. The demonstration was accompanied by narration that explained the exercise movements and the background of Falun Gong.
At our Falun Gong booth, practitioners handed out Falun Gong fliers and taught adults and children how to fold paper lotus flowers. Many visitors were very interested in the practice and expressed their concern about the persecution. One visitor asked us how she could talk to her friends from China about the persecution.
This year's celebration is particularly significant, as it is the first Valleyfest since Spokane Valley became an independent city. Practitioners from Seattle and Pullman came to support this event and they were completely engaged in distributing fliers and talking with people about Falun Gong for the whole day. When the celebration was about to conclude, the Falun Gong booth still had many visitors while other booths were already packing up.
