Clearwisdom Editors note: In order to ensure the effective functioning of the material centers in China and so that people will treasure the books they obtain, practitioners must charge for the books they have managed to make under the persecution and after overcoming all kinds of difficulties. Under the current special circumstances, we need to at least charge for the cost of printing and transport. If the situation permits, the market price can be charged. This is Master's direction. Fellow practitioners in China, please follow these instructions. (November 9, 2004)

(Clearwisdom.net) With the progress of Fa-rectification, a lot of people are asking for Falun Dafa books or CD's, as well as other materials. In many areas, Falun Dafa books, especially Zhuan Falun, are in short supply. Today I read an article on the Clearwisdom website discussing the issue of charging for Dafa books. Here I would like to share my understandings on this issue based on my experience in the local area. Should we charge for the books we made under the current difficult situation--

I think that, although programs slandering Dafa are not broadcast on TV much anymore, a lot of people are still very afraid of being associated with Falun Gong. After five years of persecution, they have seen many Falun Gong practitioners abused, arrested, sentenced, and even tortured to death. Under such circumstances, it is very precious that people want to learn the truth about Falun Gong and read the books. We should avoid creating any obstacles for these people that might come about by charging them for the books.

In order to enable people to treasure Dafa books, we could explain to them that this book is in short supply and ask them to return the book if they do not want to cultivate. This way, people would not view Dafa books as ordinary commercial products, and we could give the returned books to others to help solve the problem of supply.

Our most important task is to save people, to let them know the truth about Falun Dafa and to obtain the Fa. The circumstances in this special time period are not the same as when we obtained the Fa. Though these books were all made from the personal income of Dafa practitioners, Dafa books are priceless. If we charged money to cover the low costs of the printing, it may make people think that we are making money from these books and thus discount the sacredness of the Fa and prevent them from obtaining the Fa.

The evil may take advantage of the fact that we have charged for the books, and thus cause unnecessary damage to Dafa.

Above are my personal understandings. Please kindly point out any mistakes. Thank you.
