(Clearwisdom.net) In 1997, I started to practice Falun Dafa. Before that, my complexion was sallow, and I was so thin and weak that a burst of wind could have blown me down. When I was in middle school, my physical health began to deteriorate as a result of malnutrition as well as the heavy burden of my school studies. When I went to high school later on, I had become extremely weak physically. I was diagnosed with gastritis, liver tumescence, cholecystitis, recurring stomatitis (canker sores) and several other illnesses.
Stomatitis was most painful for me. It would always last for days and days once my mouth had inflammations. When some of the inflammations were healing, new sores would again appear in less than ten days. Numerous Western drugs were prescribed and just as many Chinese medicines were also tried, yet my illnesses just didn't heal and I was struggling with them each and every day. Gray hairs were already covering my head yet I was still a very young person, and quite often, I would catch the flu. When I caught a cold, I had to use intravenous drips to help me gradually recover.
At first, my school grades were excellent, however, when I was in my second year of high school, my grades dropped significantly. Ever since I was a kid, my parents had been at odds with each other and fighting was like a routine for them. The pains from my physical body and the pressures on my mind really brought me down. Every day, I lived and studied with so much frustration that I felt like I was completely immersed in utterly bitter water, and sometimes, I would even think of committing suicide.
It was during the second semester of my junior year in high school, in 1997, that because all the treatments from the hospitals didn't work, I went to Zhengzhou City to learn qigong with some slim hopes. In a period of about two weeks, I had already spent around six to seven hundred yuan (it was not easy for my family to have sent me that much money) and still I didn't get any improvement. Fortunately, I came across a book called Zhuan Falun during my stay in Zhengzhou City. After I returned home, I forgot all the fatigue from my trip and started to read the book. I finished more than half the book in a single day, and it completely opened my mind to a brand new horizon. All my previous confusions about life were immediately resolved, and I only regretted that I had not gotten the book earlier.
The sun went down. It was already dark inside the room, so I couldn't see to read any more. I closed the book and decided to walk outside to the yard. I had just crossed the threshold with one leg in and the other out, when I suddenly experienced some kind of very strange feeling. My legs used to feel as heavy as lead when I walked, but all of a sudden, they seemed to be very light. I just didn't know how to express the ultra comfort that my body was in at that moment. I was so delighted that I couldn't help jumping around in the yard.
It was just like that: in one single day, even though I had not learned the exercises and the book was not finished yet, a miracle had already happened to me, and it made a completely different me out of myself. At that time, I still had not completed the book and so I didn't understand much about what had happened; I just felt so happy and excited. Soon after I went back to school, I learned how to practice the Falun Gong exercises and since then, I started my path of cultivation.
It was Teacher who had cleansed my physical body; he not only rendered me healthy, but he also made me realize the true meaning of our life on earth-- that is, returning to one's real, true self.
When my classmates noticed the dramatic changes in me, they were surprised and asked: "So what kind of medicines are you taking now? How can you recover so quickly?" I then told them that my recovery was due to my practice of Falun Gong.
